Micah Hutchins returns for his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets.....batted a career-high .325 as a junior which ranked second on the squad.....started 38 of the 39 games he played.....legged out a team-high five triples.....second with 11 steals and tied for second with 28 runs scored.....had 10 multi-hit games with a seven-game hitting streak.....All-NCCAA Midwest Region performer and American Mideast Conference honorable mention. 1999 -- Hutchins was the only player to play in all 34 games.....made 33 starts, all in left field, and was used primarily in the leadoff position.....batted .288 and paced the club in at bats (104), runs (14), hits (30), doubles (5), triples (2), and steals (10).....had eight multi-hit games with a pair of three-hit efforts including one in a win over Rio Grande. 1998 -- Started all 29 games he appeared in as a freshman.....drove in a team-high 14 runs, ranked second on the team in runs scored with 13, and batted .215.....singled in first official collegiate at bat. High School -- Earned three letters in baseball and two more in basketball at Vineyard Harvester Christian Academy.....two-time varsity all-star and played on three divisional championship teams.....county stolen base leader as a sophomore, junior, and senior.....valedictorian of graduating class. Personal -- Army Scholarship recipient.....Organizational Communications major at Cedarville University.....born 6/4/79.....son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hutchins.....younger brother, Samuel, is a sophomore for the Yellow Jackets.....has two older brothers and two other younger brothers.
