Netters earn ITA All-Academic honors
CEDARVILLE, Ohio (8-1-2001) -- The Cedarville University men's and women's tennis squads have both been selected as All-Academic Teams for the 2001 season by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). It's the fourth straight year the Yellow Jacket netters have earned the honor. The program recognizes teams who maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average for the team. It includes all student-athletes on the roster who have competed in at least one match. Cedarville is one of ten NAIA schools nationally to be so honored. The Yellow Jackets join Embry-Riddle FL and Georgia Southwestern as the only institutions to have both their men's and women's teams recognized. Other NAIA women's programs listed include Bethany KS, Indiana-Southeast, McKendree IL, Saint Francis IN, and Walsh OH. Lyon AR and Southwestern KS were also named in the men's division.

Hall, Franke NCCAA runner-up
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (5-10-2001) -- Jason Hall and Aaron Franke teamed up to finish second at #3 doubles in the flighted portion of the NCCAA National Tournament. After winning their first two matches, they dropped an 8-2 decision in the championship match. Victor Puhy placed third at #5 singles. [MATCH RESULTS]

CU finishes third at NCCAA Nationals
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (5-9-2001) -- Cedarville placed third at the NCCAA National Tournament with an 8-1 victory over Greenville in the consolation match after losing an 8-1 decision to Gardner-Webb in the semifinals. GW relinquished only one point to the Yellow Jackets when Victor Puhy needed three sets for a win at #5 singles.
