Justin Gerber will concentrate on the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 5,000 meter run this spring.....competed in the 5K at the NAIA Indoor Nationals this winter.....placed third in the American Mideast Conference steeple in 9:53.48 and was eighth in the NCCAA last year.....ran a season-best 9:52.11 at the Cincinnati Invitational.....finished fourth in the AMC 5K in 16:35.59.....best time was 15:50.64 at the Bowling Green Classic.....member of cross country squad that placed fifth in the NAIA and second in the NCCAA last fall.....finished among team's top seven runners in all eight meets in which he competed.....AMC honorable mention with a ninth-place showing.....had a season-low 26:30 effort for the 8K in the NCCAA Nationals and placed 18th.....produced a strong sophomore cross country season to finish the campaign as the team's #1 runner.....ran back-to-back career-lows of 25:58 in the AMC meet where he placed fifth to earn all-league honors, and he was an NCCAA All-American upon placing 14th.....Cedarville's lone representative at the 1999 NAIA Nationals where he finished 73rd of 236 runners in 26:11. High School -- Had a five-sport career at Pella Community High School.....garnered 12 letters total in cross country, track, football, basketball, and baseball.....team captain and named to the all-conference team in cross country.....member of Class 3A state runner-up squads in basketball and baseball. Personal -- Accounting major at Cedarville University.....born 10/24/79.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Gerber.....has two older sisters who are Cedarville College graduates.....also has a younger brother and a younger sister.
