Nov. 18, NAIA NATIONALS
The Yellow Jackets put together their best finish ever by placing fifth at the NAIA National Championships. Life GA won the meet with 99 points and was followed by Black Hills State SD 137; American Mideast Conference member Malone 166; Brevard NC 184; and Cedarville 218. Sergio Reyes placed sixth overall out of 245 runners by covering the 8,000 meters in 25:35 to earn All-America honors (top 30 finishers). Others scoring for the Yellow Jackets were Steve Wakefield (34th; 26:19), Jody Fox (43rd; 26:24), Eddie Nehus (98th; 27:11), and Alan Bruder (111th; 27:21). [COMPLETE RESULTS]

Nov. 11, NCCAA NATIONALS
The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, finished as the runner-up at the NCCAA Nationals at John Bryan State Park to No. 4 Malone, who won the meet for the third straight time. The Pioneers had 45 points to outrun Cedarville who totalled 56 points in the 19-team field. Three Yellow Jackets earned NCCAA All-America status by finishing in the Top 15. That trio includes Sergio Reyes (2nd; 25:08), Jody Fox (5th; 25:44), and Steve Wakefield (11th; 25:57). Others scoring for Cedarville were Justin Gerber (18th; 26:30) and Ken Loescher (22nd; 26:46). Loescher and Eddie Nehus were named All-America Scholar-Athletes which recognizes juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average. Nov. 4, at American Mideast Conference
Cedarville, ranked No. 10 in the NAIA, finished second to No. 4 Malone in the American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX championship meets. Malone had 28 points while the Yellow Jackets totaled 33 in the AMC portion. Sergio Reyes was the individual champion by covering the 8,000 meters in 25:46. He was joined on the all-conference team (top seven finishers) by Jody Fox (3rd; 26:41) and Steve Wakefield (7th; 27:09) while Justin Gerber (9th; 27:21) was honorable mention. Oct. 20, at Wilmington Classic
Sergio Reyes, Steve Wakefield, and Jody Fox crossed the finish line in the first three positions to lead the Yellow Jackets to a convincing victory at the Wilmington Classic. Cedarville had 17 points while the host Quakers were next with 77 points in the 18-team field. Reyes' time for the 8K was 25:26, Wakefield turned in a 25:52 clocking, and Fox toured the course in 25:57. Eddie Nehus placed fifth overall in 26:38 while Dan Plaatje was sixth in 26:41.

Oct. 13, at All-Ohio Championship
Cedarville tied their best finish ever at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships by placing fourth with 136 points. The Yellow Jackets only trailed Kent State (73), Malone (91), and Bowling Green (104) in the 36-team field. Sergio Reyes placed fifth out of 245 runners in 26:19 for the 8K. Others scoring for Cedarville were Jody Fox (12th; 26:42), Steve Wakefield (36th; 27:29), Ken Loescher (39th; 27:31), and Dan Plaatje (47th; 27:42). [SEE COMPLETE RESULTS]

Sept. 30, at Greensboro Invitational
Cedarville cruised to victory at the 14-team Greensboro Invitational by placing eight runners in the top ten. The Yellow Jackets, ranked No. 10 in the NAIA, had 17 points to easily outdistance runner-up Ohio Northern, who finished with 71. Sergio Reyes was the individual champion in covering the 8,000 meters in 25:36. Others scoring for the Yellow Jackets were Steve Wakefield (2nd; 26:37), Jody Fox (3rd; 26:40), Ken Loescher (5th; 27:01), and Dan Plaatje (6th; 27:11).

Sept. 23, FRIENDSHIP INVITATIONAL
The Yellow Jackets finished second in a tight finish at the top of the 10th Annual Friendship Invitational at John Bryan State Park. Kenyon recorded 63 points to edge out host Cedarville, who finished with 65, while Grace had 71. Sergio Reyes placed second individually in 25:47 for the 8,000 meters just three seconds out of first. Others scoring for the Jackets were Steve Wakefield (7th; 26:28), Jody Fox (11th; 26:39), Justin Gerber (22nd; 27:08), and Ken Loescher (23rd; 27:09). [COMPLETE RESULTS]

Sept. 16, at Midwest Collegiate Championship
Cedarville, ranked 24th by the NAIA, was the top NAIA finisher at the Midwest Collegiate Championships by placing 10th with 309 points. Calvin won the meet with 70 points. Sergio Reyes finished 29th for Cedarville in 26:16 for the 8K course. The rest of the Jackets top five were Steve Wakefield (51st; 26:43), Eddie Nehus (92nd; 27:16), Alan Bruder (95th; 27:19), and Dan Plaatje (135th; 27:47). Jody Fox, the team's #2 runner, did not run due to injury.

Sept. 2, at Rio Grande Invitational
Host Rio Grande was declared the winner of their own invitational by winning a tiebreaker with the Yellow Jackets. The Redmen and Cedarville each finished with 28 points while Charleston had 87 and Ohio Valley 108. Freshman Sergio Reyes won the individual title by covering the 8,000 meters in 27:31. Other Yellow Jackets included Steve Wakefield (3rd; 28:22), Jody Fox (4th; 29:21), Alan Bruder (9th; 29:08), and Eddie Nehus (11th; 29:42).
