Amanda Porter became the ninth player in Lady Jacket basketball history to reach 1,000 career points joining classmate Julie Nourse in the elite group.....played in all 33 games with 31 starts, ranked second on the team in scoring at 13.1 ppg, and led the squad in assists (122), steals (66), and free throw percentage (.866).....earned spots on the NCCAA All-Midwest Region Team and the American Mideast Conference Second Team.....selected to all-tournament teams at Huntington and Concordia.....consistent scorer who reached double figures in 27 games.....twice matched her career-high of eight assists in one game. 1998-99 -- Porter started all 31 games in the backcourt and received AMC honorable mention recognition.....ranked third on the team in scoring at 12.9 ppg, was second in assists with 105, and first in steals with 73.....scored in double figures 23 times including a career-high 23 points in a win at Malone.....handed out a career-high eight assists in victories over Taylor and Wilmington.....matched her career-high of seven steals in a win at Mount St. Joseph. 1997-98 -- Porter came on strong at the end of her freshman season to finish third on the team in scoring (9.8 ppg) and second in steals (53).....averaged 13.0 points over the final 11 games.....played in all 29 contests with 18 starts.....recognized as All-Mid-Ohio Conference Honorable Mention.....scored in double figures 12 times which included 21 points at Ohio Dominican.....netted 19 points in the season finale at Concordia, and had 16 points with a career-high 10 rebounds at NAIA Division II national champion Walsh. High School -- Porter enjoyed an all-star career at Farmington Hills High School.....scored 1,129 career points as a four-year basketball letter winner and also earned letters in soccer, volleyball, and softball.....All-Western Lakes Conference First Team performer as a senior upon averaging 16.3 points, eight rebounds, four steals, and three assists while shooting 62 percent from the field.....named to the Farmington Observer All-Area First Team and was an All-Detroit Metro North Second Team pick.....played for AAU state championship team in 1997 that finished fifth in the nation.
