Nov. 20, Gardner-Webb (NCCAA Nationals - Consolation Game)
The best season in the brief four-year soccer history for the Lady Jackets ended in a 2-0 setback to Gardner-Webb in the consolation match of the NCCAA National Tournament. Cedarville, who ends the campaign 12-7-2, was shutout in back-to-back matches for the first time all year. They lost to eventual champion Indiana Wesleyan, 3-0, in the semifinals. The Jackets had their chances against Gardner-Webb with two balls rebounding off the crossbar and another misdirected off the post. Despite the outcome, Cedarville completed their first winning season since starting women's varsity soccer in 1997. Junior midfielder Michelle Ruhlman was named to the NCCAA All-America First Team and to the national all-tournament team. Junior midfielder Kristen DeVinney was selected to the NCCAA All-America Second Team and senior goalkeeper Becky Kozlowski was honorable mention. [STATS]

Nov. 18, Indiana Wesleyan (NCCAA Nationals - Semifinals)
Defending NCCAA champion Indiana Wesleyan blanked the Lady Jackets, 3-0 in the semifinals. The Wildcats, who have won three of the last four banners, led 1-0 at halftime and put nine shots on goal during the match compared to five for Cedarville. [STATS]

Nov. 17, Roberts Wesleyan (NCCAA Nationals - First Round)
Freshman forward Jane Adams scored two goals to lead #5 seed Cedarville to a 4-0 victory over #4 Roberts Wesleyan in the first round of the National Christian College Athletic Association Tournament. Annette Ruba and Adams netted goals to provide the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 halftime cushion. Adams and Amber Bungart added insurance goals in the second half. Michelle Ruhlman tallied two assists while Ruba, Adams, Esther Kelly and Kristen DeVinney added others. Becky Kozlowski made five saves in goal while registering her sixth shutout the season. Cedarville, 8-1-1 in their last ten matches, is making their first NCCAA National Tournament appearance in its four-year varsity history. [STATS]

Nov. 7, at Malone (NAIA Region IX Playoffs)
The Lady Jackets eight-match unbeaten streak ended where it began a month ago to the day as host Malone blanked Cedarville, 2-0, in the first round of the NAIA Region IX playoffs. The Pioneers, 12-8-1, got goals in the 47th and 79th minutes in a match where both teams mustered just five shots on goal apiece. The outcome also ended junior midfielder Michelle Ruhlman's nine-match streak of scoring at least one point in a match. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie at Malone in their American Mideast Conference match on Oct. 7. Cedarville went on to win a school-record seven matches in a row to complete the regular season and qualify for the NAIA playoffs. [STATS]

Oct. 28, at Walsh
The Lady Jackets ended the regular season with their seventh consecutive victory in a 2-1 American Mideast Conference win at Walsh. Michelle Ruhlman extended her point-scoring streak to nine straight matches when she put Cedarville on the board first in the 51st minute on an assist from Jane Adams. After the Cavs tied the match four minutes later, Kristen DeVinney netted the game winner in the 66th minute. The Jackets are 7-0-1 in their past eight matches. [STATS]

Oct. 24, URBANA
The Lady Jackets won their sixth consecutive match and upped their record to 6-0-1 in the last seven outings with a 5-0 victory over Urbana in American Mideast Conference play. Freshman forward Jan Adams netted two goals while Michelle Ruhlman had a goal and two assists in the final home game of the regular season. It was the eighth straight match that Ruhlman has scored a point. Laurie Gallo and Kristen DeVinney also scored for Cedarville. [STATS]

Oct. 21, SAINT VINCENT
Michelle Ruhlman paced the Lady Jackets to their fifth straight victory in a 3-0 Homecoming win against Saint Vincent in American Mideast Conference action. The junior midfielder netted two goals and added an assist in scoring at least one point in a match for the seventh consecutive game. Ruhlman scored unassisted in the 33rd minute, assisted on Amber Bungart's goal five minutes later, then found the net for the second time with Esther Kelly assisting in the 72nd minute. Becky Kozlowski needed to make just two saves in what was the team's fifth shutout of the season and third in the last four matches. [STATS]

Oct. 19, at Wittenberg
Michelle Ruhlman's unassisted goal four minutes into overtime gave Cedarville a 2-1 non-conference victory at Wittenberg. The outcome kept the Lady Jackets unbeaten in their last five games at 4-0-1. After a scoreless first half that saw Cedarville manage just one shot on goal, Cindy Probus headed in a Kristen DeVinney corner kick in the 48th minute. It was DeVinney's eighth assist which ties the school record for a season she set last year. The host Tigers evened the match in the 67th minute setting the stage for Ruhlman's game winner in the extra session. [STATS]

Oct. 17, SHAWNEE STATE
The Lady Jackets set five school records during a 12-0 American Mideast Conference romp over Shawnee State. Amber Bungart netted three goals and Annette Ruba added two in a match that saw the hosts score three times in less than three minutes early to take immediate command. Other scores came from Cindy Probus, Michelle Ruhlman, Kristen DeVinney, Jane Adams, Lisa Hockenberry, Laurie Gallo, and Karissa Waldron. DeVinney and Jennifer Walker set a new school record for most assists in a match with three each. Ruhlman, Adams, Hockenberry, and Amy Nyhuis were also credited with assists. Four Cedarville team records were set for most goals scored (12), most assists (10), most points (34), and largest margin of victory surpassing the 9-0 win at Huntington on 9/27/97. [STATS]

Oct. 13, GENEVA
Michelle Ruhlman scored a goal and dished off for two assists in a 6-0 win over Geneva in an American Mideast Conference match. Six different players scored for the Lady Jackets, who are unbeaten in their last three matches. Ruhlman got the scoring underway unassisted in the 12th minute and then she and Laurie Gallo set up freshman Jane Adams' team-high ninth goal of the year late in the first half. Kristen DeVinney, Lisa Hockenberry, Jessie Gasiorowski, and Amber Bungart all scored second-half goals. Annette Ruba and Karin Nyhuis also supplied assists. Cedarville put 19 shots on goal compared to four for Geneva. Becky Kozlowski and Melissa Fawcett combined for the shutout in goal. [STATS]

Oct. 10, at Ohio Dominican
Rookie forward Jane Adams scored three goals and Kristen DeVinney added two more in a 6-1 American Mideast Conference victory at Ohio Dominican. Cedarville bolted to a 4-1 halftime lead with Adams getting the "hat trick" in the opening frame. The visitors outshot the Panthers 31-2 for the contest. Lisa Hockenberry supplied the other Lady Jacket goal. Michelle Ruhlman was credited with two assists with others coming from Jessica Alexander, Cindy Probus, and Esther Kelly. Adams joins DeVinney (4), Hockenberry (3), and Probus (3) as Cedarville players who have scored three or more goals in a match during the program's four-year history. [STATS]

Oct. 7, at Malone
Cedarville slowed down the hottest team in the American Mideast Conference with a 1-1 tie at Malone. The Pioneers entered the match with a seven-game winning streak. Michelle Ruhlman netted her fourth goal of the season for the Lady Jackets with an assist from Jane Adams in the 62nd minute. Malone got the equalizer with four minutes left. [STATS]

Sept. 30, at Seton Hill
Seton Hill netted the first four goals of the match en route to a 7-3 American Mideast Conference victory over Cedarville. The Spirit led 3-0 at halftime and increased the margin with another goal four minutes into the second half. Jane Adams scored her team-high fifth goal of the season with Cindy Probus assisting. Following two more Seton Hill goals to make the difference 6-1, Michelle Ruhlman found the net on a pass from Kristen DeVinney and Alicia Cook came back with a goal on assists from Adams and Ruhlman. The hosts closed out the scoring with three minutes left. [STATS]

Sept. 26, at Tiffin
Defending American Mideast Conference champion Tiffin exploded for five goals in the second half en route to a 6-1 victory over Cedarville. The Lady Jackets did something that no other AMC opponent did in eight conference matches last year -- score against TU. Cedarville got on the board first in the 14th minute when Annette Ruba found the net on assists from Jane Adams and Alicia Cook. The Dragons, ranked No. 17 in the NAIA, tied it in the 32nd minute and then took off with four goals in the first 23 minutes of the second period. [STATS]

Sept. 23, NOTRE DAME (Ohio)
Cindy Probus scored a career-high three goals to go along with one assist to lead Cedarville to a 5-1 victory over Notre Dame College in American Mideast Conference action. Probus opened the scoring unassisted in the 6th minute before setting up Michelle Ruhlman's goal in the 10th minute. Rookie forward Jane Adams buried her team-high fourth goal of the season four minutes later for a 3-0 lead. In the second half, Probus scored in the 60th minute with Kristen DeVinney assisting and then she completed the "hat trick" with an unassisted goal two minutes after that. The Lady Jackets peppered the Notre Dame defense with 32 shots while surrendering only three. [STATS]

Sept. 19, MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE
Mount Vernon Nazarene spoiled Cedarville's American Mideast Conference opener with a 2-1 win. The Cougars got all they needed with goals in the 37th and 55th minutes. Freshman Jane Adams scored from classmate Karin Nyhuis with 6:54 left to make it close. [STATS]

Sept. 16, OTTERBEIN
Cedarville handed Otterbein its first loss in five outings with a 2-0 decision. The Lady Jackets got unassisted goals from Michelle Ruhlman in the 39th minute and Esther Kelly in the 84th. Becky Kozlowski made four saves while picking up her second shutout of the season. Cedarville put ten shots on goal compared to four from the Cardinals. [STATS]

Sept. 13, at Earlham
Earlham scored early and late in handing the Lady Jackets their first loss of the season, 2-0, in a non-conference match. The Quakers scored in the 2nd minute and then held Cedarville at bay before adding another goal in the 87th minute. The Jackets had a 15-11 shot advantage. [STATS]

Sept. 9, TAYLOR
Cedarville opened their home schedule with a 3-1 non-conference victory over Taylor. The Jackets broke a scoreless tie when Jessie Gasiorowski scored on an assist from Annette Ruba in the 66th minute. Esther Kelly found the net 11 minutes later with Jane Adams and Amber Bungart assisting. After Taylor scored with nine minutes left, Adams netted the final goal with just nine seconds remaining from Cindy Probus. [STATS]

Sept. 5, at Marietta
Cedarville and Marietta played to a scoreless deadlock in a non-conference match. The visiting Lady Jackets unloaded 31 shots, 19 of which were on goal, while Marietta put just six of their 13 shots on net. Becky Kozlowski played the entire 120 minutes in goal for Cedarville, 1-0-1, and was credited with six saves. Marietta has a 1-0-2 record. It marked the third time in the Lady Jackets' four-year soccer history that they have been involved in a scoreless match. [STATS]

Sept. 2, at Marian IN
Cedarville made a statement while hanging a 5-1 defeat on host Marian in their season opener. The Lady Jackets received goals from five different players and rolled to victory without the services of their top returning player, junior midfielder and two-time NCCAA All-American Michelle Ruhlman, who returned to her home in Washington state for her sister's wedding. Amber Bungart scored in the 8th minute, but Marian tallied one minute later. The Jackets got a goal from Annette Ruba for a 2-1 halftime lead and then put the match away on scores from Danielle Davidson, Cindy Probus, and Jane Adams. Kristen DeVinney and Lisa Hockenberry handed out two assists each and Alicia Cook also had an assist. Becky Kozlowski and Melissa Fawcett shared goalkeeping duties. [STATS]
