Samuel Hutchins is a two-year letter winner with the Yellow Jackets who can play either first base or the outfield.....batted .240 last spring with 31 starts in 34 games.....tallied six multi-hit games including three-hit showings against Mount Vernon Nazarene and Mount St. Joseph.....outstanding .995 fielding percentage with just one error in 186 chances. 2001 - Only player on the team to play in all 45 games.....made 42 starts, primarily in the outfield.....used extensively in the lead-off spot and batted .271 with a team-high 30 runs scored and 12 RBI.....produced ten multi-hit games including six three-hit performances. High School - Lettered in baseball and basketball at Cedartown High School after beginning his prep career at Vineyard Harvester Christian Academy.....named school's Athlete of the Year as a senior.....batted .380 his final year and averaged 8 points and 10 rebounds per game on the hardwood.....National Honor Society member.
