May 4, ASBURY
Cedarville honored its five graduating seniors and then scored seven first-inning runs en route to a 16-2 non-conference win over Asbury in the home finale. Scott VanDerAa, who began the season as CU's all-time leader in innings pitched, allowed four hits in six-plus innings while improving his record to 5-4. He ends his career with 269 1/3 innings to his credit. Fellow classmate Chad Hofstetter was 2-for-3 with a pair of sacrifice flies, two doubles, two runs scored, and four RBI's. The other seniors also produced as Drew Bennett had two hits with two runs scored, Bryan Mangin had a hit and scored twice, and Ben Saturley added a hit. Forest Greetham and O.J. Skiles each had two hits to aid the Jackets' 15-hit attack. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 2, at Rio Grande
The American Mideast Conference season came to a close with Rio Grande winning two games from Cedarville, 6-2 and 4-3. The Redmen never trailed in either contest jumping out to a 4-0 advantage in the opener. CU cut the deficit in half on RBI doubles from Jon Oren and Jeff Lowe in the fourth inning before Rio completed the scoring. The hosts scored the first four runs of the nightcap as well, and a Jacket rally fell short. Lowe homered while Chris Grimm doubled and scored in the fourth inning. Cedarville added their final run in the seventh.

April 30, at Indiana Wesleyan (NCCAA Midwest Regional)
Host and No. 1 seed Indiana Wesleyan rallied to beat Cedarville, 11-10 in eight innings, in the championship game of the NCCAA Midwest Regional Tournament. The Wildcats scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extra innings and then plated the game winner in the eighth after two were out. Bryan Mangin was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored, and two RBI's. Chris Grimm had a pair of hits with three RBI's while Forest Greetham and Ben Saturley added two hits apiece. April 30, Spring Arbor (NCCAA Midwest Regional)
Cedarville defeated No. 2 seed Spring Arbor, 6-3, in the semifinals of the NCCAA Midwest Regional behind the pitching and hitting of Ryan Zenn. The freshman righthander retired the first nine batters he faced and allowed two runs on four hits in five innings. Zenn, who bats lefthanded, belted a two-run homer for his fifth of the season. T.J. Couch worked the final two innings for his seventh save. Jeff Lowe added two hits with three RBI's. [GAME BOXSCORE]

April 27, URBANA
Sophomore lefthander Josh Smith tossed a complete-game five-hitter and Cedarville outlasted Urbana, 1-0, in 12 innings in the first game of an American Mideast Conference doubleheader. The Blue Knights took the second game, 2-1. Smith threw 129 pitches, struck out seven, and walked three to pick up his second win of the season. Pinch hitter Chad Hofstetter beat out a chopper to shortstop scoring pinch runner Jamie Brightwell with the bases loaded and two outs. Bryan Mangin and Jason Williams had two hits in the contest. Mangin opened the 12th inning with his second double of the game and Brightwell replaced him on the bases. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Urbana managed only two hits in the second game, but plated an unearned run in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Jeff Lowe had two hits for the Yellow Jackets. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 26, GENEVA
Geneva rallied from seven runs down for a 10-8 victory to complete an American Mideast Conference sweep at Cedarville. The Golden Tornadoes posted a 6-0 win in the opener. The Yellow Jackets appeared to be in control of the nightcap after jumping to a 7-0 lead after their first two at bats. Geneva scored three times in the third to start the comeback and broke an 8-8 tie in the seventh with two unearned runs after the first two batters were retired. Bryan Mangin was 3-for-4 and Jon Oren was 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Jeff Lowe and Barry Chamberlin added two hits each. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE] In the first game, pitchers Daniel Giddings, John Myers, and Barry Chamberlin combined for 13 strikeouts and allowed just five hits. But Geneva took advantage of four walks, three hit batters, and two CU errors to win. Lowe had two of the Jackets' three hits. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]

April 24, BLUFFTON
Scott VanDerAa and T.J. Couch combined for a two-hitter as Cedarville brushed aside a 10-game losing streak with a 6-2 non-conference victory over Bluffton. The visiting Beavers got their only hits on singles in the second and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. VanDerAa, who worked the first seven innings, shut them down the rest of the way with nine strikeouts and just one walk in squaring his record at 4-4. Couch handled the final two innings for his sixth save which included three strikeouts. Back-to-back RBI doubles by Jeff Lowe and Ryan Zenn tied the score in the sixth inning. Bryan Mangin's double off the third baseman's glove drove in Eric Carroll with the go ahead run. CU put the contest away with three runs in the eighth. Forest Greetham, Chris Grimm, Ben Saturley, and Jon Oren each contributed two hits to Cedarville's 12-hit attack. [GAME BOXSCORE]

April 23, at Tiffin
Tiffin handed the Yellow Jackets 10-0 and 13-5 setbacks in an American Mideast Conference doubleheader. The Dragons scored in all but one inning of the opener which was stopped after six innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. CU managed four hits with Jeff Lowe's double as the only extra base knock. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Cedarville rallied for four runs in the third inning of the nightcap to tie the score at 5-5, but Tiffin responded with three runs in their half of the frame to take the lead for good. Chris Grimm was 1-for-2 with two RBI's while five other Yellow Jackets contributed singles. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 20, at Ohio Dominican
American Mideast Conference leader Ohio Dominican swept a doubleheader from the Yellow Jackets, 11-1 and 5-0. The Panthers clubbed five home runs during an eight-run second inning of the opener. Cedarville got on the board on Barry Chamberlin's first homer of the season which was one of only three hits for the visitors. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] CU produced just two hits in the nightcap - a single from Ben Saturley and a pinch hit single off the bat of Chad Hofstetter. ODC scored twice in the first inning and three more times in the third in handing the Jackets their eighth straight setback. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 17, at Morehead State
NCAA Division I Morehead State pounded four home runs en route to a 16-6 win over Cedarville in non-conference action. The Yellow Jackets put two runs on the board after just three batters. Samuel Hutchins was hit by a pitch to open the game and scored on a double by Jeff Lowe. Ryan Zenn then followed with a single for a 2-0 lead. However, the host Eagles plated 14 unanswered runs by scoring in each of the next five innings. Jameson Adams and Bryan Mangin recorded two hits apiece and Lowe scored twice. [GAME BOXSCORE]

April 16, POINT PARK
The Yellow Jackets mustered only six hits for the day as visiting Point Park swept an American Mideast Conference doubleheader, 11-1 and 9-2. The Pioneers took advantage of seven walks, three hit batters, and a catcher's interference to post the first-game victory. Ryan Zenn was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Cedarville. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] The Jackets were without a hit in the nightcap heading into their final at bat. Zenn led off with a solid single to left and later scored. Jameson Adams had the only other hit for Cedarville which lost for their fifth straight time. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 15, at Walsh
Walsh swept an American Mideast Conference doubleheader from the Yellow Jackets by scores of 10-2 and 8-7. The Cavaliers never trailed in the first game and led 7-1 after two innings. Chris Grimm and Jeff Lowe both went 1-for-3 with a double to lead CU's offense. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, Walsh got a two-out bases loaded single in the seventh inning to spoil a Jacket comeback. Cedarville scored four times in the fifth inning - the last three coming on a pinch hit three-run homer by Ryan Zenn - to tie the score at 7-7. Kurt Hopkins, Samuel Hutchins, Jameson Adams, Ben Saturley, and O.J. Skiles all recorded two hits each in the contest. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 10, MALONE
Cedarville beat Malone, 4-1, in the first game of an American Mideast Conference doubleheader, but had their four-game winning streak stopped in a 4-2 setback in the nightcap. The Jackets took the opener by breaking a 1-1 tie with a three-run fifth inning. Ben Saturley's two-run pinch hit double broke the deadlock. John Myers got the win in relief of starter Ryan Zenn while T.J. Couch worked the seventh inning for his fifth save of the season. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Bryan Mangin's RBI triple put Cedarville on the board first in the third inning of the second game. Malone responded with a three-run fifth inning and never relinquished the lead. April 8, TEMPLE BAPTIST
Cedarville cruised to 11-1 and 5-1 victories against Temple Baptist in a non-conference twinbill. The Jackets broke the first game open with a seven-run second inning. Ryan Zenn and Ben Saturley had two hits each while O.J. Skiles and Drew Bennett both scored twice. Starting pitcher Kurt Hopkins hurled four perfect innings to get the win. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Forest Greetham went 4-for-4 with three runs scored in the second game. Jeff Lowe stroked a two-run double and three CU pitchers combined for the win. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 6, at Mount Vernon Nazarene
Pinch hitter Jameson Adams delivered a two-out, two-run single as Cedarville rallied in their last at bat for a 2-1 win at NAIA No. 16 Mount Vernon Nazarene for a split in an American Mideast Conference doubleheader. The Yellow Jackets were one strike away from suffering a no-hit loss before Ryan Zenn got the first hit with a shot the MVNC first baseman was unable to handle. Jason Williams doubled down the left field line moving to Zenn to third base setting up Adams' heroics. T.J. Couch came on in relief of Daniel Giddings to work the final three innings on the mound for his first victory of the season. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE] The host Cougars pounded out 17 hits and crushed Cedarville in the opener, 11-1, in a game halted after six innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. CU's Bryan Mangin singled home Kurt Hopkins with the first run in the opening frame, but MVNC responded with seven runs in their first at bat to take command. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]

April 5, at Indiana Tech
Yellow Jacket head coach Greg Hughes returned to his alma mater, Indiana Tech, where he is a member of the Warriors' Hall of Fame, only to see his Jackets drop a pair of non-conference games, 2-1 and 7-5. The first game took just 1-hour and 5-minutes to complete. CU's run came on a solo homer from rookie Ryan Zenn in the fourth inning which tied the score 1-1. The hosts answered with a run in their half of the frame and then held on for the win. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] The Jackets committed seven costly errors in the second contest leading to four unearned runs. Ryan Zenn pounded a two-run homer and Jameson Adams added a pinch hit solo shot. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 4, at Wittenberg
Wittenberg scored the first four runs of the game and never looked back in handing the Yellow Jackets an 8-2 non-conference setback. Cedarville scored its two runs in the fourth inning on a double from Chris Grimm and an RBI groundout from Ryan Zenn. Grimm finished 2-for-4 at the plate and Kurt Hopkins added a double. April 2, SAINT VINCENT
Chris Grimm homered, doubled, and drove in three runs to lead Cedarville to a 5-3 win over Saint Vincent and a split of their American Mideast Conference doubleheader in the Yellow Jackets' home opener. The Bearcats won the first game, 9-3. Grimm went 2-for-3 in the nightcap and scored two runs. Jameson Adams was 3-for-3 while Bryan Mangin doubled and scored twice. Rookie pitcher Ryan Zenn improved his record to 2-1 with the win and T.J. Couch worked the seventh inning for his fourth save of the season. March 28, at Transylvania
Barry Chamberlin stroked three hits and drove in five runs as the Yellow Jackets rolled to their fourth straight victory with an 18-1 win at Transylvania in a non-conference game. Jameson Adams aided CU's 16-hit attack with three hits and four RBI's. Jeff Lowe and Chris Grimm each contributed a pair of hits and four runs scored while Ben Saturley and Jon Oren added two hits each. The Jackets took advantage of 13 walks and two hit batsmen in crossing the plate in six of the seven innings played. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 22, at Savannah
T.J. Couch came on in relief and picked up two saves as the Yellow Jackets swept Savannah College, 7-4 and 7-6, in non-conference action. Cedarville took over the first game with a three-run fourth inning. Justin Zenn had two RBI's, Chris Grimm was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Jeff Lowe added a double with an RBI. Scott VanDerAa was the winning pitcher striking out three with no walks. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, Josh Smith notched the win on relief help from Jacob Richardson and Couch. March 20, at Southeastern
Ryan Zenn hit a two-run homer and Barry Chamberlin, less than a week removed from finishing the basketball season, struck out five batters and got the win on the mound in a 7-3 victory at Southeastern. Cedarville managed only five hits from five separate players but took advantage of five errors from the hosts. Chamberlin allowed three unearned runs in the first inning before settling down for the win. John Myers worked two innings and T.J. Couch fanned two batters while wrapping up the seventh. March 19, at Flagler
A pair of four-run innings carried Flagler to an easy 13-0 victory over the Jackets. CU struggled offensively with just two hits on singles from Jason Williams and Chris Grimm. Four errors in the field led to five unearned runs. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 19, Grace (at Flagler)
Cedarville lost a 3-1 decision in a rematch with Grace in a game played at Flagler. The Jackets opened the scoring in the fourth inning when Jamie Brightwell scored on Jeff Lowe's groundout. The Lancers plated single runs in their next three at bats to pull out the win. Kurt Hopkins was 2-for-2 at the plate and Lowe added a double. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 18, at Embry-Riddle
Cedarville dropped a 17-1 decision at NAIA No. 21 Embry-Riddle. The hosts scored six runs in the fifth inning and seven more in the sixth to break the game open. Kurt Hopkins doubled and scored to lead the CU offense that managed just six hits total. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 18, Grace (at Flagler)
Kurt Hopkins drove in two runs with two hits to lead Cedarville to a 7-5 win over Grace to open their spring break trip in Florida. Hopkins and Samuel Hutchins each contributed doubles to the Jackets' nine-hit attack. Scott VanDerAa tossed five innings and was the winning pitcher. John Myers hurled the sixth inning and T.J. Couch came on in the seventh to get the save. CU jumped out to a 7-1 lead after three innings before holding on for the win. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 7, at Dayton
NCAA Division I Dayton used a seven-run third inning to put away the Yellow Jackets, 9-3, in a non-conference game. Cedarville got on the board first with a run in the second inning, but the Flyers produced their big inning on just two hits, one of which was a grand slam, two walks, and three errors. Jameson Adams delivered a two-run, pinch hit single in the ninth to complete CU's scoring. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 6, at Shawnee State
Shawnee State defeated the Yellow Jackets 11-6 and 11-1 in the first American Mideast Conference doubleheader of the season. The host Bears hammered out 25 hits on the afternoon, 16 of which went for extra bases, and jumped out to big leads early in both contests. SSU scored the first eight runs of the opener and took an 11-2 advantage into the seventh inning before Cedarville scored four times. Chris Grimm was 2-for-3 with a double, a two-run homer, three RBI's, and two runs scored. Jeff Lowe had two hits and scored twice. March 2, at Berea
Rookie righthander Ryan Zenn tossed a complete-game two-hitter to pace the Yellow Jackets to a 5-1 win and a split of a non-conference doubleheader at Berea. Samuel Hutchins was 2-for-3 at the plate, Jeff Lowe drove in two runs, and Justin Zenn tripled. March 1, at Cumberland
Cumberland dealt Cedarville 8-1 and 12-5 setbacks in a season-opening non-conference doubleheader for the Yellow Jackets. The visitors managed just five hits in the first game.
