Justin Gerber will again concentrate on the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 5,000 meter run this spring.....finished 2nd in the AMC steeple in 9:58 last year and was 7th at the NCCAA in 10:05.47.....ran a season-low 9:54 at the Miami Invitational.....posted a 16:15 time in the AMC 5K to place 5th.....career-best time in the 5K is 15:43.62 set at the Indy Relays.....placed 3rd in the AMC steeple as a sophomore in 9:53.48 and was 8th in the NCCAA.....ran a career-best 9:52.11 at the Cincinnati Invitational.....finished fourth in the AMC 5K in 16:35.59.....four-year cross country runner who was the team's #3 performer last fall.....placed 18th in the AMC Championships with a season-low time in the 8K of 26:48 and was 24th at the NCCAA Nationals in 26:51.....team's #1 runner as a sophomore.....finished among team's top seven runners in all eight meets in which he competed.....ran back-to-back career-lows of 25:58 in the AMC meet where he placed 5th to earn all-league honors, and he was an NCCAA All-American upon placing 14th.....Cedarville's lone representative at the 1999 NAIA Nationals where he finished 73rd of 236 runners in 26:11. High School -- Had a five-sport career at Pella Community High School.....garnered 12 letters total in cross country, track, football, basketball, and baseball.....team captain and named to the all-conference team in cross country.....member of Class 3A state runner-up squads in basketball and baseball. Personal -- Dean's List student as a Accounting/Finance major at Cedarville University.....born 10/24/79 in Pella, IA.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Gerber.....has two older sisters who are Cedarville College graduates.....also has a younger brother and a younger sister.
