Cedarville University

Ashley Smith returns to Cedarville as a two-sport standout in basketball and softball.....played in 27 games with two starts on the hardwood averaging 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.....netted a season-high 10 points at Huntington.....started every game at shortstop for the 18-18 softball team and batted .286 from the leadoff position.....led the team in at bats (119), runs (23), triples (4), home runs (3), total bases (56), and stolen bases (14) to go along with five doubles and 19 RBI's.....recorded a team-high ten multi-hit games.....named to the All-NCCAA Midwest Region Tournament Team.

High School - Smith joined the Lady Jackets after earning nine letters total in basketball, softball, and volleyball at Arcanum High School.....three-year letter winner in basketball who averaged 11 points per game as a senior.....named to the All-Cross County Conference Team as well as the All-Darke County Team.....four-time all-county and all-conference selection at shortstop.....team finished as the regional runner-up last spring.....batted .450 or higher all four seasons with a career-high .620 batting average as a sophomore.

Personal -- Physical Education major at Cedarville University.....wears the same number as worn by sister in-law Diane Rank Smith, who is the Lady Jackets' second all-time leader in scoring and rebounding as well as a member of the Cedarville University Athletic Hall of Fame.....born 2/1/82 in Greenville, OH.....daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith.....has two older brothers.
