Lady Jackets ousted at NAIA Nationals
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. (5-13-2002) -- No. 16 ranked Georgia Southwestern State blanked No. 23 Cedarville, 7-0, in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament. The Lady Canes took control after sweeping the three doubles matches. The Jackets' best opportunity came at the No. 3 spot where Sarah Rogers and Diana Locke dropped an 8-6 decision. GSSU won the four singles matches that were completed in straight sets. No. 2 singles player Amy Gregory completed her career with a school-record 51 victories. The 18 team victories by Cedarville this season broke the previous mark of 15 wins set by the 2001 squad. [MATCH RESULTS]

Lady Jackets 3rd at NCCAA Invitational
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (5-8-2002) -- NAIA No. 23 Cedarville placed third at the NCCAA Invitational Tournament with a 7-0 victory over Piedmont. The Lady Jackets coasted through doubles play with the #1 tandem of Kristi Shuck and Amy Gregory winning 8-0, Sarah Rogers and Diana Locke moved up to the #2 spot and responded with an 8-1 victory, while Katie Krumeich and Jolene Nourse were winners by default. Carrie Hartman, Nourse, and Krumeich were singles victors in matches that were completed and Jessica Brown won by default. Shuck, Gregory, and Hartman were each named to the all-tournament team. Jackets win, lost at NCCAA Invitational
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (5-7-2002) -- Cedarville drilled Emmanuel, 9-0, on day two at the NCCAA Invitational Tournament before losing a 7-2 decision to NCAA Division II North Greenville. The Lady Jackets dominated doubles play against Emmanuel with three 8-0 victories. CU lost just ten games total in singles on wins from Kristi Shuck, Amy Gregory, Carrie Hartman, Jen Roman, Jolene Nourse, and Katie Krumeich. [MATCH RESULTS] North Greenville took a 2-1 lead after doubles with the Jackets getting an 8-2 win from the #3 pair of Sarah Rogers and Diana Locke. The lone singles point came from Locke with a 6-2, 6-3 win from the #6 spot. [MATCH RESULTS]
