Craig Bennington returns to the No. 1 position in the Yellow Jacket line-up after posting the finest spring season of his career as a junior.....averaged 77.8 strokes per 18 holes which tied for the 8th-lowest mark in school history.....placed 4th in the American Mideast Conference Championships with rounds of 78-75-73 for a 226 total to garner All-AMC honors.....14th CU all-conference golfer.....matched his career-low of 73 at the Urbana Invitational.....broke 80 nine times including the last four rounds of the season. 2001 - Played in the #2 position as a sophomore and averaged 80.8 strokes per 18 holes.....had the team's lowest average over the final half of the season at 77.3.....tied for 15th in the AMC Championships with a career-low 73 to go along with rounds of 79-77 for a 229 total.....broke 80 seven times including his last four rounds.....tied for 3rd at the Mount Vernon Nazarene Invitational with a 76-39-115 total.....tied for 8th in the Cedarville Invitational at 82-75-157. 2000 - Put together a notable rookie season by averaging 82.8 to rank second on the team.....made his collegiate debut with a 77 at the Muskingum Invitational.....led the squad with a 77 at the Shawnee State Invitational which placed 7th overall.....finished the season with back-to-back 79's in the AMC Championships. High School - MVP at Tuslaw High School as a senior after averaging 38.7 strokes per nine holes.....earned spots on the All-County and All-Conference First Teams.....selected MVP of basketball squad averaging 21 points per game with all-district, all-county and all-conference honors.....three-year letter winner in basketball at Massillon Christian before finishing career at Tuslaw.....National Honor Society student. Personal - Dean's List student as a broadcasting major at Cedarville University.....born 3/16/81 in Massillon, OH.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bennington.....has one younger sister and a younger brother.
