The league is the highest level of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) with a regular season schedule running from mid-April through August. Reid was Cedarville's team MVP the last two years and was named to the All-NAIA Region IX Team following both his junior and senior seasons. He was a four-year starter for the Yellow Jackets, was twice an NAIA All-America honorable mention, and graduated with a school-record 17 career shutouts. Reid was voted CU's Male Athlete of the Year as a senior after pacing the kickers to a highest-ever NAIA No. 16 ranking with six shutouts and a 1.30 goals against average. The Redmen got on the board first in the 59th minute, but the Jackets answered in the 67th minute when Andy Levesque netted his third goal of the season with Andrew Belleman assisting. However, Rio needed only one minute to regain the lead for good and then added an insurance goal in the 87th minute. [STATS] CU stuns Notre Dame, 1-0 LYNDHURST, Ohio (11-9-2002) - Jon Waldo scored in the 77th minute and Matt Reid stopped five shots en route to his sixth shutout of the season as the Jackets shocked Notre Dame (Ohio), 1-0, in an American Mideast Conference post-season qualifying game. Waldo broke the scoreless tie with his 16th goal of the season and his ninth game-winner with Phillip Ellis assisting. Cedarville made the goal stand up to gain a berth in the NAIA Region IX Final Four. The host Falcons, winners of the AMC North Division and a 2-1 victor at CU on Oct. 19, outshot the Jackets 14-3 including a 5-2 edge in shots on goal. Reid extended his career shutouts record to 17.
