Alan Bruder is back for his fourth season with the Yellow Jacket track & field team and adds depth in the distance events.....saw limited action as a junior competing in the 3K, 5K, and 10K.....made his 10,000 meter debut in the American Mideast Conference outdoor meet and placed 4th in 33:38.....finished 5th in the event at the NCCAA Nationals.....enters the indoor season after putting together an outstanding cross country campaign in the fall as the team's #2 runner.....posted a career-low 26:20 in the 8K at the Wilmington Classic to place 8th overall.....finished 17th at the NCCAA Nationals in 26:39.....NAIA and NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete. 2001 - Competed solely in the 5,000 meters as sophomore during both the indoor and outdoor circuits.....placed 4th in the AMC in 16:07.80.....ran a season-low 15:50.01 in the Cedarville Open and was timed in 15:51.93 at Miami University.....posted a career-best indoor time of 15:52.50 at Ohio Northern.....ran among the cross country team's top four finishers in five out of seven outings during the fall season as a junior.....had a season-best time of 26:45 at the Wilmington Classic and placed 7th overall.....CU's top finisher in the All-Ohio Championship placing 76th in 27:42.....NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete. 2000 - Posted a career-low time in the outdoor 5K of 15:48.76 as a freshman at the Miami Invitational and later placed 13th at the NCCAA Nationals.....finished his sophomore cross country season in the #5 position.....ran a season-best 26:45 and placed 9th overall at the Wilmington Classic......saw action in five varsity meets during his first collegiate cross country season the previous fall and was among CU's top seven runners three times. High School - Four-year letter winner in both cross country and track & field at Ogemaw Heights High School.....all-state cross country runner as a senior and three-time Academic All-State.....was all-conference first team as a junior and senior and earned second team honors as a sophomore.....member of three league championship teams and two regional title squads.....three-time conference track champion.....school was state track runner-up twice, won the regional four times, and the conference three times during his career. Personal - Dean's Honor List student as a management information systems and accounting major.....born 5/20/81 in Kalamazoo, MI.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bruder.....has one younger brother and a younger sister.
