Drew Nelson is coming off an outstanding junior season in which he earned NAIA All-America indoor honors in the 800 meters by placing 3rd in the country with a career-best time of 1:54.73.....won the event at the Ohio Northern Indoor (1:59.46).....three-year letter winner with the Yellow Jacket track & field squad.....American Mideast Conference 800 meter runner-up outdoors in 1:54.42.....placed 2nd at Miami University in the event with a career-low time of 1:52.10 and was 2nd at the Cincinnati Invitational.....finished 4th at the NCCAA Nationals (1:53.99) and qualified for the NAIA Nationals.....member of the winning AMC 4 x 800 outdoor relay squad for the third straight year. 2001 - Member of the AMC relay championship teams in the 4 x 400 and the 4 x 800 for the second consecutive year.....helped CU claim the conference title.....ran a season-low 1:57.27 in the 800 meters in the NCCAA semifinals.....placed 6th in the event at both the NCCAA (1:59.44) and the AMC Championships (2:00.20).....best indoor time in the 800 was 2:00.39.....rejoined the Cedarville cross country program after sitting out the 2000 season.....had a season-low time of 28:02 for the 8,000 meters. 2000 - Part of NCCAA national champion 4 x 400 meter relay squad as a freshman.....also a member of the AMC championship 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 meter relay teams.....ran the 800 meters during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.....placed 4th outdoors in the AMC (2:00.09) and was 6th in the NCCAA (1:57.54).....posted a season-low time of 1:55.60 at the Indy Relays.....best time indoors was 2:00.97. High School - Earned seven letters total in cross country, track, and soccer at Bible Baptist High School.....member of one league championship cross country team and was all-conference as a senior.....graduated with five school records on the track and also owns the pole vault mark.....part of three conference track & field title teams and owns the league 400 and 1,600 meter records.....National Honor Society recipient. Personal - Carries an international studies and history double major at Cedarville University.....born 11/10/81 in Johnson City, NY.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nelson.....has one older sister.
