Kent Ruth enters his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets competing in the hammer and javelin outdoors and the weight throw indoors.....placed 2nd in the javelin at the American Mideast Conference meet with a toss of 164-10.....unloaded a career-best heave of 176-4 to finish 3rd at the Cincinnati Classic.....threw the hammer a career-best 136-10 and placed 7th at the NCCAA Nationals.....posted a career-best 42-3.50 in the 35-pound weight throw indoors at Kent State. 2001 - Threw a season-best 174-10 in the javelin to win the Northwest Ohio Classic at the University of Findlay.....placed 2nd in the event at the AMC meet (155-5), was 5th at the Indy Relays (168-11), and 8th at the NCCAA (160-4). 2000 - AMC runner-up in the javelin as a freshman with a season-best heave of 174-5.....also competed in the hammer placing 9th in the conference. High School - Four-year letter winner in cross country at Oley Valley High School.....earned two letters in volleyball and participated in baseball for two seasons.....state qualifier in cross country.....National Honor Society student. Personal - Dean's Honor List student as a management information systems major.....born 11/2/80 in Reading, PA.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ruth.....has one older sister.
