May 22-24, at NAIA Outdoor Championships
James Yahara, Tim Beck, and Joel Smith represented Cedarville at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Yahara finished 18th in the hammer throw with a heave of 152-feet 1-inch on Day One while Beck was 21st in the javelin at 155-5. Smith failed to clear the opening height in the high jump on the second day. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

May 10, at Akron Open
Tim Beck finished 2nd in the javelin at the Akron Open with a toss of 176-feet 2-inches. He was also 6th in the long jump with an effort of 21-11.75. Freshman Joel Smith placed 5th in the high jump by clearing a career-high 6-8. Elsewhere, James Yahara was 12th in the hammer throw (156-9), Adam Laskos was 12th in the 400 meter dash (52.31), and Ben Shroyer was 13th in the 1,500 meters (4:15.60). [COMPLETE RESULTS]

May 1-3, at NCCAA Outdoor Championships
Cedarville placed 7th at the NCCAA Nationals where four Yellow Jackets earned All-America honors. Tim Beck placed 2nd in the long jump at 22-feet 7-inches while Mugabe Thomas was 3rd at 21-9. Justin Mattern was 2nd in the pole vault (14-1.25), Kevin Hall was 2nd in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:52.40), and James Yahara was 3rd in the hammer (145-8). The top three finishers in each event are tabbed All-Americans. Greenville won the meet with 168.5 points over 14 other schools. The Jackets finished with 65.5 points. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

April 26, at American Mideast Conference Championship
The only victory for the Yellow Jackets at the American Mideast Conference Championships came when they won the 4 x 800 meter relay for the fifth straight year and then placed 5th out of 10 schools as a team. The winning relay squad, who turned in a time of 7:54.48, consisted of Mark Swan, Andy Goodenough, Ben Shroyer, and Drew Nelson. Nelson was 3rd in the 800 meter run in 1:58.69 while Goodenough was next just .01 seconds behind. Tim Beck was 2nd in the long jump (22-7) and 3rd in the javelin (184-0), Kevin Hall was 3rd in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:01.47), and Joel Smith was 3rd in the high jump (6-2). Walsh claimed the team title with 171 points and was followed by Malone (137), Tiffin (117), Geneva (109), and Cedarville (97) in the top five. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

April 18 at Taylor Invitational
Drew Nelson won the Taylor Invitational 800 meters in 1:55.85 while Tim Beck was a winner in the javelin with a heave of 185-feet 8-inches. Nelson was complimented by teammate Andy Goodenough, who finished 2nd in 1:57.47. Kent Ruth provided the same support in the javelin with a toss of 167-4 to place 2nd. Beck was 2nd in the long jump (21-5) and Joel Smith cleared 6-6 to finish 2nd in the high jump. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

April 12 at Miami Invitational
Tim Beck finished 5th in the javelin and 7th in the long jump at the Miami Invitational. His toss in the javelin was 168-feet 6-inches while his jump was 21-3.25. Kevin Hall finished 7th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:50.84 while James Yahara was 7th in the hammer throw at 142-1. Andy Goodenough placed 8th in the 800 meters in 1:55.48; Joel Smith was 8th in the high jump at 6-3.50; and Chris Stairs was 8th in the triple jump at 37-6. Ball State was the team winner with 210 points and was followed by Miami, 207; Louisville, 78.5; Marshall, 76.5; Valparaiso, 55; Purdue, 44; Butler, 37.5; Cedarville, 21.5; and IUPU-Indianapolis, 1. April 5, at Wilmington Invitational
Kent Ruth was Cedarville's lone winner at the Wilmington Invitational by capturing the javelin competition with a heave of 178-feet 6-inches. The Yellow Jackets finished 5th in the 16-team field with 81 points. Baldwin-Wallace won the meet with 154 points. Tim Beck was 2nd in the long jump (20-feet 3-inches), 3rd in the javelin (161-5), and 3rd in the 400 meter dash (51.88 seconds). Joel Smith placed 2nd in the pole vault (6-2), the 4 x 400 meter relay team was 2nd (3:24.66), Kevin Hall was 3rd in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:05.46), and James Yahara was 3rd in the hammer throw (146-10). March 28-29, at Emory Classic
The Yellow Jackets tied for 8th place at the 22-school Emory University Classic with 37 points. The host Eagles won the event with 108 points. Tim Beck finished 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 21-feet 9.50-inches while Justin Mattern tied for second in the pole vault by clearing 12-feet 11.75-inches. Joel Smith was 3rd in the high jump (6-2) and Drew Nelson was 4th in the 800 meters (1:56.38). [COMPLETE RESULTS]

March 22, at Muskingum Invitational
Drew Nelson and Justin Mattern were Cedarville's only winners at the Muskingum Invitational. Nelson won the 800 meters in 2:00.74 and later finished 4th in the 1,500 meters in 4:14.08. Mattern tied for 1st place in the pole vault by clearing 13-feet even. Mark Swan was 4th in the 800 meters (2:04.42) and was 6th in the 1,500 (4:16.60). March 6-8, at NAIA Indoor Championships
Drew Nelson placed 7th in the 800 meter final as he narrowly missed repeating as an All-American at the NAIA National Indoor Track & Field Championships. The top six finishers in each event are All-Americans. Nelson, who placed 3rd in the event last season, turned in the 3rd-fastest preliminary time at 1:54.28, but his 1:57.46 effort in the final fell one second short of the coveted sixth spot. His performance was still the best for the Yellow Jackets who failed to score a point during the weekend. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

Feb. 28, at Denison Open
Matt Trammel won the 400 meter dash in 51.34 seconds at the Denison Last Chance Qualifer. Teammate Drew Nelson was close behind in 52.16. The Yellow Jackets' 4 x 400 meter relay unit was also a winner in 3:31.11. Andy Goodenough placed 2nd in the 800 meters in 1:58.64 while Tim Beck was 2nd in the long jump with an effort of 20-feet 1.25-inches. [RESULTS]

Feb. 22, at NCCAA Indoor Championships
Dan Campbell was Cedarville's lone champion at the NCCAA Indoor Championships and Matt Trammel set a school record. Campbell toured the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:40.27 while teammate Alan Bruder was 3rd in 16:38.76. Trammel set a new school mark in the 200 meters with a time of 23.15 seconds which placed 7th in the finals. Tim Beck was 2nd in the long jump (6.68 meters) and James Yahara was 3rd in the weight throw (14.25 meters). Greenville won the meet with 144 points. Feb. 15, at Denison Invitational
At the non-scoring Denison Invitational, Tim Beck won the 400 meters in 53.35 seconds, Matt Trammel had the fastest time in the 200 meters in 23.33 seconds, and Justin Mattern won the pole vault at 13-feet 9-inches. Clinton Johnson was 3rd (8.66 seconds) in the 55 meter hurdles, Ben Shroyer placed 4th (4:16.08) in the 1,500 meters, Alan Bruder was 4th (9:24.22) in the 3,000 meters, and Beck was 4th (19-7) in the long jump. Feb. 15, at All-Ohio Indoor Championships
Cedarville placed 2nd in the NAIA division of the All-Ohio Indoor Championships. Freshman high jumper Joel Smith placed 9th overall by clearing 6-feet 2.75-inches. James Yahara was 11th (45-11.75) in the weight throw while Kent Ruth finished 14th (42-6). Central State won the team title with 58 points while the Yellow Jackets tallied 24 points. [RESULTS]

Feb. 1, at Findlay Indoor Classic
Andy Goodenough had Cedarville's highest finish at the Findlay Indoor Classic by placing 3rd in the 800 meters with a career-best time of 1:58:47. NAIA Indoor All-American Drew Nelson was close behind in 5th place with a time of 1:58.66. The meet was non-scoring. Freshman high jumper Joel Smith cleared 6-feet 6 3/4-inches to finish 4th. The only other Top 10 finish came from the 4 x 400 meter relay quartet that ended up 6th in 3:29.63. [RESULTS]

Jan. 24, at Ohio Northern Invitational
Andy Goodenough, Dan Campbell, and Joel Smith picked up individual victories at the season-opening Ohio Northern Invitational where the Yellow Jackets finished 4th out of nine teams. Findlay easily took top honors with 190 points and was followed by Wilmington (84), Ohio Northern (75), and Cedarville (59). Goodenough claimed the 800 meters in 2:00.58 while NAIA All-American Drew Nelson was 3rd in 2:03.01. Campbell finished 1st in the 5,000 meters in 16:11.73 while teammate Alan Bruder was 2nd in 16:19.68. Freshman Joel Smith was a winner in the high jump by clearing 6-feet 3.25 inches. [RESULTS]
