  • Sergio Reyes is one of the top distance runners that Cedarville University has ever had.....#1 runner in all nine meets for the 2000 nationally-ranked team and was an NAIA All-American by placing 6th in the country out of 245 runners in 25:35 for the 8K.....sat out the 2001 season and will finish his career this fall.....only the fourth Yellow Jacket cross country runner to earn NAIA All-America recognition.....NCCAA All-American as the national runner-up with a career-best time of 25:08.....selected the NCAA Division II/NAIA Male Runner of the Year by the Ohio Collegiate Cross Country Coaches Association.....placed 5th in the All-Ohio Championship.....four-time individual champion including the American Mideast Conference title.....posted other wins at Rio Grande, Greensboro, and Wilmington.....led the Yellow Jackets to a 5th-place finish at the NAIA Nationals and a runner-up finish in the NCCAA.....on the track, NAIA outdoor 10,000 meter champion last spring in 30:13.42.....placed 3rd in the 5K.....two-time NAIA Outdoor All-American in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters.....two-time NAIA Indoor All-American in the 5K.....2002 NCCAA Outstanding Performer of the Meet after setting meet records while winning both the 5K and 10K.....five-time AMC track champion.....CU Male Athlete of the Year in each of the past two years.....holds the school records for the indoor 1,500 and 5,000 meters as well as the outdoor 5K and 10K.

    Junior College/High School - Transferred in fall 2000 from Cuesta College in California.....two-year letter winner in cross country and track.....two-time all-conference performer in both sports.....two-time junior college All-American on the track.....Western State Conference Athlete of the Year in cross country for 1999.....selected to the league's All-Academic unit.....named Cuesta's male Athlete of the Year and holds the school record in the 3,000 meters.....homeschooled.
