Melissa Holland returns for her final year of collegiate volleyball for the Lady Jackets after transferring from Shawnee State University for the 2001 season.....will return to her natural position of middle hitter after playing as an outside hitter last year.....finished second on the Lady Jackets with 125 total blocks and third with 301 kills....ranked second for the Lady Jackets and sixth in the AMC in attack percentage (.327).....registered season-highs of 15 kills at Urbana and eight blocks in a win against Tennessee Temple.....one of six Lady Jackets to play in all 150 games of all 43 matches.....earned American Mideast Conference honorable mention. 2000 - Played for Shawnee State and was a member of the All-AMC First Team in 2000 while leading the league in solo blocks (111).....ranked second in the AMC in attack percentage (.365) and blocks per game (1.55).....registered 390 kills, 191 total blocks, 61 service aces and 254 digs for the Bears last year. High School - Lettered in volleyball two years at Reno High School in Nevada.....garnered All-State Second Team honors as a sophomore.....finished her high school career at Chillicothe High School. Personal - Pursuing a World Missions degree at Cedarville University......born 1/8/77 in Long Beach, CA.....daughter of Mr. Wayne Holland and Mrs. Patti Day.....has one older sister.
