  • Erin Nehus enters her final track & field season with the credentials to be the finest female distance runner that Cedarville University has ever had.....NAIA Indoor All-American this past winter in the 5,000 meters by placing 2nd in 17:47.03.....three-time NAIA and NCCAA All-American in cross country......three-time defending American Mideast Conference 1,500 meter champ.....cross country team's #1 runner in all but three meets during her career....posted 2nd-place finishes at the NAIA Outdoor Championships in the 3,000 meters (10:10.83) and the 5,000 meters (17:45.15) to earn NAIA All-America status last spring.....captured 1st place in the 3K and 5K at both the AMC Championships and the NCCAA Championships.....became first CU female runner to break the 10:00 mark in the 3K with a 9:57.62 performance at the Indiana Invitational.....also set a new school record in the 5K with a 17:17.93 at the Miami Invitational.....earned NAIA Indoor All-America honors for her 4th-place finish in the 5K with a 17:54.72 performance.....NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete, NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete, and AMC Scholar-Athlete.....was unable to finish the AMC Cross Country meet last fall due to a foot injury and also missed the NCCAA Championships the following week.....came back to finish 33rd at the NAIA Nationals with a 19:17 as Cedarville finished in fourth place.

    2001 - NCCAA champion outdoors in the 3,000 meters (10:41.36) and 5,000 meters (18:25.95)......repeated as AMC 1,500 meter champion.....led Cedarville to the 2001 NAIA cross country title by placing 3rd overall.

    2000 - Met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark in the 1,500 meters with a winning time of 4:54.19 at the Ohio Northern Indoor Invitational.....ran a season-best of 4:48.68 to finish 6th in the 1,500 meters at the Cincinnati Bearcat Classic....placed 2nd in the 3,000 meters at the AMC Championships with a 10:59.75 effort.....also placed 2nd at the NCCAA Championships with a 10:47.21 performance.....ran a season-best 18:38.59 at the 2000 Indy Relays to place 7th.

    High School - Put together a record-setting career at Gallia Academy.....All-Ohio performer in cross country and on the track in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs.....four-time team MVP in both cross country and track & field.....holds the school record in the 800 meters at 2:25.....earned All-Southeast Ohio Athletic League honors during each of her four years.....garnered All-Ohio Academic recognition and was Valedictorian of her graduating class.

    Personal - NAIA and NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete in cross country.....Dean's List student as an exercise science major at Cedarville University.....born 3/16/81 in Northridge, CA.....daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harry Nehus.....older brother, Eddie, graduated from CU in 2001 as a three-time NAIA All-American.
