May 20, Geneva (NCCAA National Tournament)
Geneva drew a bases loaded walk with one out in the bottom of the 8th inning to give the Golden Tornadoes a 2-1 victory over Cedarville in a losers' bracket game at the NCCAA National Baseball Tournament. The outcome between the American Mideast Conference members ends the season for the Yellow Jackets, who surprisingly repeated as NCCAA Midwest Region champions in order to play in the national tournament. The Jackets got their only run in the 1st inning when Travis Allen scored on a sacrifice fly by Richie Reeder. Losing pitcher David Snow went the distance allowing just one earned run on five hits. Jeff Lowe added another single and finished the season with a school-record 55 hits. Forest Greetham was 2-for-3 to lead CU's seven-hit attack. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 19, Judson (NCCAA National Tournament)
Andrew Noble went 3-for-3 with two RBI's and Scott Tarvin tossed a complete game to lead No. 9 seed Cedarville to a 5-3 victory over No. 5 Judson in a losers' bracket game at the NCCAA National Tournament. Jeff Lowe was 2-for-4 with an RBI and set a new school record for the most hits in a season with 54. Travis Allen scored twice and was 2-for-3 to up his season hit total to 53. Tarvin, a freshman lefthander, retired 11 batters in a row during one stretch and improved his record to 2-4. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 19, Oakland City (NCCAA National Tournament)
No. 9 seed Cedarville dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 8 Oakland City in the opening game of the NCCAA National Tournament. The two teams managed just four hits apiece in what turned out to be a pitchers' duel. Losing hurler Matthew Bonin deserved a better fate after striking out seven and walking one with his record falling to 5-4. The Jackets received singles from Travis Allen, Eric Carroll, Forest Greetham, and Jon Oren. CU had just one runner reach third base. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 7, at Spring Arbor (NCCAA Midwest Regional)
Cedarville twiced rallied from deficits and then hung on to upset host Spring Arbor, 7-6, to win their second straight NCCAA Midwest Region championship. The victory sends the surprising Yellow Jackets to the NCCAA National Tournament in Celina, Ohio on May 19-24. Cedarville, the home team in the final game, trailed 2-0 before scoring three times in the 3rd inning. The Cougars regained a 4-3 advantage, but the Jackets plated four runs in the 4th to take the lead for good. David Snow pitched the first six innings and notched his second straight win after CU ace Matthew Bonin worked the 7th for his first collegiate save. Brody Morris was 3-for-3 with an RBI while Travis Allen had a double and two RBI's. Dave Terrill's double set a new school record for most two-baggers in a season with 14. Jeff Lowe singled and matched the school record for hits in a season at 52. Following Thursday's 1-0 opening-round loss to Concordia, Cedarville was 3-11 in one-run games and had dropped the last eight such decisions in a row. They rebounded for back-to-back one-run victories to win the fourth region title in school history. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 6, at Spring Arbor (NCCAA Midwest Regional)
Cedarville made the most of five hits in a 6-5 victory over No. 1 seed and host Spring Arbor in the NCCAA Midwest Regional. The Jackets jumped on the Cougars for three runs in the 1st inning and never trailed.. Jeff Lowe had two hits and Jon Oren doubled. Freshman lefthander Scott Tarvin scattered seven hits and notched his first collegiate victory. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 6, Concordia (NCCAA Midwest Regional)
Concordia made a 5th-inning run stand up for a 1-0 win over Cedarville in the first round of the NCCAA Midwest Regional at Spring Arbor. The Jackets had the first run of the contest nullified in the 3rd inning when the home plate umpire ruled that a CU runner missed the plate. Both teams had just four hits apiece. Jeff Lowe was 2-for-3 with a double and Jon Oren had the other two hits. [GAME BOXSCORE]

May 3, at Shawnee State
David Snow tossed a complete-game four-hitter to beat Shawnee State, 9-1, in the first game of an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader. The host Bears edged the Yellow Jackets, 4-3, in the second contest to avert a sweep. Cedarville jumped out to a 6-0 lead to take control of the first game. Snow struck out just one batter and the Jacket defense handled 36 chances without an error in the field to secure the righthander's first win of the season. Jon Oren and Brody Morris had two hits each and Mark Eisentrager scored three times. Eight separate players were credited with RBI's. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Shawnee State plated three unearned runs in the 1st inning of the nightcap and built up a 4-0 advantage. CU came up just short with two runs in the 6th inning and another in the 7th. Oren was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. April 30, at Shawnee State
Shawnee State effectively used the long ball to down the Yellow Jackets 3-2 and 5-4 in 10 innings to sweep an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader. The Bears hit five home runs in the twinbill including solo shots that won both games. Cedarville grabbed a 2-1 lead in the opener, but SSU tied it with a run in the 4th inning and then won it with a solo home run in the 6th. Eric Carroll, Forest Greetham, and Richie Reeder had two hits apiece to lead the Yellow Jackets. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Shawnee State scored all five of its runs on homers in the second contest. CU rallied with three runs in the 7th inning to force extra innings on a solo home run by Dave Terrill, an RBI single by Greetham, and a two-out RBI single by Jeff Lowe. The teams remained deadlocked until the Bears got a leadoff homer in the 10th inning to win it. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 24, URBANA
Urbana swept a rare American Mideast Conference South Division tripleheader at Cedarville. The Blue Knights won by scores of 3-2, 5-4, and 4-2. The opener was the back end of a doubleheader that was to be staged at Urbana on Friday, but was not played due to darkness. The Blue Knights were the home team and rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out the 3-2 victory. Travis Allen was 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and a run scored. Jon Oren added two hits and starting pitcher Scott Tarvin struck out nine batters. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Cedarville took a 4-2 lead after four innings of game two, but Urbana rallied for three runs in the 5th and held on for a 5-4 decision on just four hits. Allen was 3-for-4 and Oren was 2-for-3 with a double. Dave Terrill also had a double for the Jackets who totaled 10 hits. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE] Urbana completed the three-game sweep despite the Yellow Jackets getting on the board first for the third straight time. The Blue Knights went out to a 4-1 lead and CU could not recover. Oren completed a seven-hit day by going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI's. April 23, at Urbana
Matthew Bonin tossed a complete-game four-hitter to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 4-0 win at Urbana in an American Mideast Conference South Division contest. The sophomore lefthander, the reigning AMC Pitcher of the Week, struck out five and did not walk a batter in improving his record to 5-2. Jon Oren's two-run double in the 1st inning was all Bonin needed. Jeff Lowe delivered an RBI single in the 3rd and a sacrifice fly in the 7th to complete the scoring. Travis Allen was 3-for-4 at the plate, had one stolen base, and scored three of the team's four runs. Lowe was 2-for-3 with two RBI's while Andrew Noble chipped in a pair of hits. [GAME BOXSCORE]

April 19, CUMBERLAND (Ky.)
NAIA No. 4 Cumberland (Ky.) totaled 24 hits while sweeping a non-conference doubleheader at Cedarville, 6-2 and 11-1. The Patriots held a slim 3-2 lead heading into the 7th inning of the opener and they put the Jackets away with three runs in their final at bat. Jeff Lowe had a couple hits and Adam Wise delivered a two-run single for Cedarville's only runs. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Cumberland struck early and often in game two with three runs in the 1st inning and six more in the 2nd. The game was called after six innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. Lowe spoiled the shutout with a two-out solo homer in the 6th. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 17, at Mount Vernon Nazarene
NAIA No. 20 Mount Vernon Nazarene got the better part of Cedarville by sweeping an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader, 8-1 and 14-8. The opener was all MVNU as the Cougars jumped out to a 5-0 lead and were never threatened. Travis Allen had two hits including a double and Dave Terrill had two hits. Jeff Lowe and Jon Oren each had doubles. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the second game, Cedarville enjoyed leads of 4-0 and 6-2 before it all caved in during the bottom of the 4th inning. MVNU sent 13 batters to the plate and scored eight runs to take over. The Jackets had 14 hits with Allen going 4-for-4 with three runs scored. Lowe was 3-for-5 with four RBI's, Forest Greetham was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and Richie Reeder added two hits. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 16, at Mount Vernon Nazarene
The Yellow Jackets stunned NAIA No. 20 Mount Vernon Nazarene, 3-1, in the first game of an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader and nearly took the nightcap before losing, 8-7, in 8 innings. Matthew Bonin fired a complete-game four-hitter in the opener to lift Cedarville. Brody Morris was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI's while Forest Greetham added a double. CU scored all three runs in the 5th inning on a two-run double from Morris and an RBI single by Richie Reeder. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Cedarville missed out on a golden opportunity to sweep the twinbill as the Cougars rallied three times to grab the victory. The Jackets overcame a 3-0 deficit with a five-run 4th inning. The big blow in the frame was a two-run double by Dave Terrill and Travis Allen added an RBI double. MVNU tied the game with two runs in the 5th, tied it again with a run in the 7th, and answered the Jackets' run in the top of the 8th with two of their own in the bottom half. April 9, at Wilmington
Wilmington jumped out to a big lead early and then held on to defeat Cedarville, 8-5, in a non-conference game. The Quakers scored two runs each in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings for a 6-0 advantage. The Jackets used a four-run 5th inning and a solo home run from Jeff Lowe in the 7th to trim the deficit to 6-5. Wilmington got a two-run home run in the 8th to account for the final. Andrew Noble was 3-for-4 to lead CU's 13-hit attack. Lowe, Travis Allen, and O.J. Skiles added two hits apiece. [GAME BOXSCORE]

April 8, WALSH
Walsh slipped by the Yellow Jackets, 4-2 and 5-4, in a doubleheader involving American Mideast Conference members. The Cavaliers compete in the AMC North Division while Cedarville resides in the South. CU misfired on a golden opportunity to take the opener. With the score tied 2-2, the Jackets loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the 7th inning, but a double play spoiled the outcome. Walsh promptly scored twice in the 8th to secure the extra inning decision. Richie Reeder droved in both runs with a single and Eric Carroll had two hits.[GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, Walsh thwarted a 7th-inning Cedarville rally with a game-ending double play for the 5-4 win. Dave Terrill socked a two-run homer and Travis Allen drilled a solo shot. Terrill was 2-for-3 with three RBI's while Reeder and Jon Oren added two hits each. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 6, TIFFIN
Cedarville rallied from a 9-0 deficit to stun Tiffin, 10-9, in the first game of an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader. The Dragons won the second contest, 3-0, to salvage one game out of the four-game season series between the two schools. The Yellow Jackets had managed just one hit and trailed 9-0 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning of the opener. They struck for two runs in the frame and then tied the score with a seven-run 6th inning. CU won it in the 7th on a two-out, bases-loaded single from Jeff Lowe, who was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI's. Forest Greetham and Brody Morris each had two hits and two RBI's. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Hits were scarce in the nightcap with Tiffin managing three and Cedarville producing just two singles off the bats of Morris and Travis Allen. The Dragons manufactured their runs from two batters who had walked and another that was hit by a pitch. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 5, OHIO DOMINICAN
NAIA No. 14 Ohio Dominican stifled the Yellow Jacket offense by allowing just six hits total in sweeping an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader, 4-1 and 5-0. The Panthers won all four games in the series. Four of Cedarville's hits came in the opener. Travis Allen was 2-for-2 with a run scored. Jeff Lowe spoiled the shutout by tripling home Allen in the 7th inning. Starting pitcher Scott Tarvin tossed a complete game and allowed three earned runs with five strikeouts and a walk. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] The Jackets were checked on two hits in the nightcap. Dave Terrill doubled and Richie Reeder singled. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 3, OHIO DOMINICAN
NAIA No. 14 Ohio Dominican swept a pair of American Mideast Conference South Division games at Cedarville by scores of 4-1 and 20-3. The Jackets got on the board first in the opener. Brody Morris singled with two out in the 2nd inning and crossed the plate on a double by Dave Terrill. The Panthers used solo home runs in the 3rd and 6th innings to a take 2-1 lead into the 7th where they added a pair of insurance runs. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Cedarville took a 3-1 lead in game two with a three-run 3rd inning highlighted by a two-run single from Morris. The Panthers promptly sent 21 batters to the plate in the 4th inning and scored a whopping 17 runs on 14 hits which included three homers. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

April 1, at Bluffton
Cedarville scored five times in the 11th inning to complete a 14-9 come-from-behind victory at Bluffton in a non-conference game. The win ended a five-game losing streak for the Yellow Jackets. CU trailed 9-6 before getting two runs in the 8th and an unearned run in the 9th to tie it. Bluffton's first two batters reached base in the 10th inning, but reliever and winning pitcher Phil Westenbarger got out of the jam. That set up the Jackets' big 11th inning when they took advantage of four hits and six Beaver errors. Travis Allen and Eric Carroll led Cedarville's 22-hit attack with four hits apiece. Richie Reeder, O.J. Skiles, Jon Oren, Dave Terrill, and Brody Morris added two hits each. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 27, at Rio Grande
Rio Grande knocked off Cedarville 9-6 and 8-0 to sweep their four-game American Mideast Conference South Division series. The Redmen handed CU ace Matthew Bonin his first loss of the season in four decisions. The Jackets took a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning, but Rio bounced back with a run in the 1st and five more in the 2nd. Cedarville trailed 9-2 before scoring four times in the 6th inning. Richie Reeder was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Dave Terrill was 2-for-2 with two RBI's and Jeff Lowe added two hits. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] The second contest was all Rio Grande. The hosts broke open a 3-0 game with five runs in the 6th inning. Reeder was 3-for-3 at the plate for the Yellow Jackets. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

March 26, at Rio Grande
Rio Grande swept an American Mideast Conference South Division doubleheader from the Yellow Jackets by scores of 5-4 and 12-3. Cedarville rallied with two runs in the top of the 7th inning to tie the opener, 4-4, on a sacrifice fly by Dave Terrill and an RBI single from Mike Zerminski. However, the Redmen answered with the game winner in their half of the inning. Jon Oren was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Travis Allen was also 2-for-3. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Rio scored three runs in the 1st inning of the nightcap and the Jackets came back with three runs in the 2nd to tie the score at 3-3. The Redmen plated four runs in the 3rd inning and five more in the 5th. Zerminski was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Jackets. Terrill was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

March 24, KENYON
Kenyon rallied with three runs in the top of the 9th inning to stun Cedarville, 3-2, in a non-conference game. The Lords had managed only three hits through the first eight innings, but they came off the mat with four hits and a walk in their final at bat to grab the win. The outcome spoiled the collegiate debut of Scott Tarvin. The freshman lefthander, making his first appearance after finishing the basketball season, allowed just two hits in seven innings with a couple of strikeouts. Andrew Noble was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and RBI. Jon Oren had a single and scored both CU runs. Travis Allen had a single for the only other hit for the Yellow Jackets. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 23, TIFFIN
The Yellow Jackets opened American Mideast Conference South Division action by sweeping a doubleheader from Tiffin, 3-0 and 4-3. Matthew Bonin improved his record to 3-0 after tossing a three-hitter in the first game. He struck out six and walked two. Mike Zerminski was 2-for-3 with a run scored and Eric Carroll delivered a two-run single. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, relief pitcher David Snow got out of a bases loaded jam by ending the game with a third call strike for his first save of the season. Starter Josh Smith hurled the first six innings and fanned four batters in getting the win. Jeff Lowe was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Forest Greetham doubled on his way to a 2-for-3 showing while Jon Oren was 2-for-4. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

March 20, at Eastern Kentucky
NCAA Division I Eastern Kentucky hammered four home runs and 22 hits total as the Colonels buried Cedarville, 26-3. EKU improved to 13-2 overall with their fifth straight victory. After the hosts scored twice in the 1st inning, the Jackets tied the score in the 2nd on a two-run single by O.J. Skiles, who finished 3-for-3 at the plate. Eastern Kentucky answered with 11 runs in their half of the frame to take command. CU's other run came in the 7th inning when Richie Reeder delivered an RBI double. Jeff Lowe was 2-for-4 and the Yellow Jackets recorded 12 hits total. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 13, at Southeastern
Southeastern scored the winning run after two were out in the bottom of the 8th inning to nip the Jackets, 3-2, and sweep a non-conference doubleheader. The Crusaders won the opener, 6-1. Cedarville had taken a 2-1 lead in the 6th on an RBI double by Richie Reeder that scored Eric Carroll. Southeastern got the equalizer on a balk before winning in extra innings. Travis Allen picked up two of CU's five hits and Chris Gompf produced an RBI single. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE] In the first game, Southeastern broke open a tight contest with five runs in the 3rd inning. The Jackets managed just four hits at the plate with Mike Zerminski having two of those. CU's lone run came in the 6th when Allen scored on a sacrifice fly by Carroll. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]

March 12, Atlanta Christian (at Clearwater, FL)
Mike Zerminski drew a one-out, bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 8th inning to score Mark Eisentrager and give Cedarville a 5-4 non-conference win versus Atlanta Christian. Jeff Lowe opened the frame with a double and was replaced on the basepaths by Eistentrager, who then moved to third on a sacrifice by Jon Oren. Richie Reeder and Dave Terrill were both intentionally walked to fill the bases setting up Zerminski's winning base-on-balls. Lowe finished 3-for-4 with an RBI while Eric Carroll added two hits. Matthew Bonin struck out a career-high 14 batters and allowed just one earned run on three hits. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 11, at Webber International
Webber International jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and went on to defeat Cedarville, 7-2, in non-conference action during spring break. Both teams managed nine hits apiece, but the Warriors posted four for extra bases and took advantage of seven walks, six stolen bases, and two hit batters to fuel their offense. Forest Greetham was 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored. Eric Carroll went 2-for-3 with a triple and Travis Allen doubled. [GAME BOXSCORE]

March 10, Philadelphia Biblical (at Clearwater, FL)
The Yellow Jackets erupted for 31 hits on the day and pounded Philadelphia Biblical 16-0 and 14-4 in a non-conference doubleheader. Josh Smith struck out six and spun a two-hitter in the opener which was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule. No less than 12 CU players recorded hits with Jeff Lowe, Jon Oren, Andrew Noble, Dave Terrill, and Travis Allen notching two each. Lowe had three RBI's while Richie Reeder delivered a pinch hit two-run double. Cedarville blew open the second tilt with a seven-run 6th inning. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Noble, Phil Westenbarger, and Terrill combined on a four-hitter and accumulated 11 strikeouts. Mike Zerminski was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a triple, and two RBI's. Lowe was 3-for-4 with three RBI's; Forest Greetham had two hits, two runs scored, and two steals; and Eric Carroll added a pair of hits and two runs scored. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]

March 8, at Warner Southern
NAIA No. 4 Warner Southern scored four times in the 6th inning to rally for a 9-6 non-conference victory over the Yellow Jackets. Cedarville had leads of 3-0 and 4-3 before the Royals mounted their comback. CU then cut the deficit to 7-6 with a two-run 7th inning and the hosts answered with two runs in their half of the frame to account for the final. Jon Oren went 4-for-5 at the plate with a double and two runs scored. Travis Allen recorded two hits and Mark Eistentrager scored twice. [GAME BOXSCORE]

Feb. 28, GEORGETOWN
Cedarville opened the 2004 baseball season with an 11-2 victory over Georgetown, but the Tigers bounced back to gain a split in the non-conference doubleheader with a 7-3 win in the second game. It's believed to be the earliest home opener in CU's long baseball history with temperatures hovering around 60 degrees on a calm, sunny day. The Yellow Jackets took control early in the first contest by scoring four times in the second inning and seven runs in the third. Jon Oren and Eric Carroll had two hits each and two runs scored. Travis Allen recorded a double and three RBI's. Jeff Lowe and Andrew Noble added doubles, Brody Morris drove in two runs, and Dave Terrill scored two runs. Matthew Bonin got the win on the mound going five innings with six strikeouts and three walks. Phil Westenbarger pitched the final two innings in relief. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the second game, Georgetown used a four-run fifth inning to break open a close contest.
