  • Josh Gast is one of just six players in Yellow Jacket basketball history to be a three-time team MVP and is already among the school's top 15 all-time scorers.....has started all 100 career games in which he's played including all 35 last winter.....paced the squad in scoring for the third straight season at 13.7 ppg.....ranked first in three-point field goals (82) and was second in free throw accuracy (.804) and assists (117).....NCCAA All-America Second Team and NCCAA Midwest Region Team selection.....voted to the American Mideast Conference South Division First Team.....hit double figures 26 times.....scored a season-high 24 points in a win over Saint Ambrose in the first round of the NAIA Division II National Tournament.....last-second trey stunned host Wittenberg, 67-66.....named to the Anderson Invitational all-tournament team.

    2001-02 - Started all 35 games in which he played averaging a team-high 15.4 ppg while being named team MVP.....rated second in rebounds with a 5.2 average.....led the squad in field goals made (189) and three-point field goals (83), and ranked second in assists (123).....named to the All-AMC Second Team and the NCCAA National All-Tournament Team.....selected to the NCCAA Midwest Region Team.....scored in double figures 30 times including his last 17 games in a row.....pumped in a season-high 27 points in a win over Urbana.....posted three double-doubles including 26 points and 11 rebounds in a victory against Goshen.....pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds at Wilberforce.....scored 25 points in a win over NAIA Division II No. 12 and AMC co-champion Walsh, and netted 20 in a victory at co-champ Saint Vincent.

    2000-01 - Had an immediate impact on the Yellow Jackets during his rookie season and was named the team's MVP.....only player to start all 30 games.....led the squad in scoring at 14.5 points per game and rated second in rebounding at 4.9.....ranked first on the team in field goals made (144), free throws made (89), and steals (42).....named to the five-member AMC Freshmen Team and to the Taylor Classic All-Tournament Team.....scored in double figures 24 times and registered a pair of double-doubles.....exploded for career-highs of 33 points and seven assists to go along with eight rebounds in an AMC victory at Wilberforce.....netted 25 points against NAIA Division I Trevecca Nazarene.....recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds at NAIA Division II nationally-ranked Point Park.....made his collegiate debut with 11 points and 10 boards versus Tennessee Temple.

    High School - Earned three letters each in basketball and golf at Elgin High School.....averaged 18 points per game as a senior and earned all-district and all-conference first team honors.....played in the district all-star game and was honorable mention All-Ohio.....member of one district championship team and one league title squad.....golf team won conference championship as a senior.....National Honor Society student.

    Personal - Carries a multi-age physical education major at Cedarville University.....born 4/30/82 in Marion, OH.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Gast.....older brother, Andy, played basketball for four years at AMC foe Mount Vernon Nazarene before graduating in 2002.
