Dave Balch is one of the top distance runners on the Yellow Jacket roster.....finished his second cross country season as the team's #2 runner.....earned American Mideast Conference honorable mention recognition by placing 15th in 27:07 for the 8K.....ran a career-best 26:31 to place 14th overall at the Ohio Northern Invitational.....was 18th of 133 runners in the NCCAA Nationals. 2002-03 - Competed primarily in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs.....finished 5th in the NCCAA 10K with a career-best time of 32:57.91.....top time in the 5K was 15:53.98 at the Miami Invitational.....ran in the #5 position for the cross country squad.....ran a season-low 27:14 for the 8K meters in his final meet of the season to place 31st out of 160 runners at the NCCAA Nationals.....turned in a 27:37 effort at the AMC meet. High School - Two-time all-state cross country runner at Northwestern High School.....placed 7th in the state meet as a senior.....Central Buckeye Conference champion as both a junior and senior.....2001 regional and district individual title holder.....earned All-Clark County honors.....equally impressive on the track as a multiple-event CBC champion and a state qualifier.....participated in cross country for three years with three letters and was a four-year letter winner on the track.....played two years of basketball and one season of football. Personal - Carries a sport management major at Cedarville University.....born 5/29/83 in Okinawa, Japan.....son of Mr. Timothy Balch and Mrs. Renatta Long.....has one older brother, four younger brothers, and a younger sister.
