James Yahara is in his third year with the Yellow Jackets competing in the weight throw indoors and the hammer outdoors.....NCCAA All-American in the hammer by placing 3rd with a heave of 145-feet 8-inches.....threw a career-best 156-9 at the Akron Open.....finished 4th in the AMC (148-10).....qualified for the NAIA Nationals and placed 18th at 152-1.....placed 3rd at the NCCAA Nationals in the indoor weight throw with a toss of 46-9.....qualified for the NAIA Nationals in the event and posted a career-best 47-5.25 effort. 2002 - Posted a season-best in the hammer of 132-1 at the Miami Invitational.....placed 7th at the Wilmington Invitational with a heave of 128-11.....had a mark of 31-0.50 in the shot at the Florida State Relays.....finished the indoor season with a season-best 43-4.50 effort in the weight throw at Kent State. High School - Graduate of Grace Christian High School where he competed in wrestling as a freshman and sophomore.....National Honor Society student. Personal - Carries a business management major at Cedarville University.....born 9/1/82 in Anchorage, AK.....son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yahara.....has an older sister, a younger brother, and a younger sister.
