Courtney Ruffin is one of four juniors on the Lady Jacket tennis team.....joined the squad for the first time last spring after playing basketball as a freshman.....registered a 5-2 record in singles.....paired up with Jen Roman at #3 doubles and recorded a 8-5 mark.....also combined with Carrie Hartman for a 6-3 doubles record.....helped the No. 4-seeded Lady Jackets nip No. 5-seeded Bethel (IN) 5-4 in a doubles win with Roman at the NCCAA National Tournament.....scored CUs lone point at #3 doubles again with Roman in a 5-1 loss to top-seeded North Greenville at the NCCAA National Tournament.....an 8-6 decision at #3 doubles with Roman contributed to a 5-2 victory over Ohio Dominican in the NAIA Region IX Tournament championship. High School - Competed in three sports at Middle Park High School.....earned three letters in basketball, four in track & field, and one in volleyball.....earned all-conference second team recognition on the hardwood as a junior and was honorable mention as a senior.....member of league and regional championship volleyball team as a senior.....academic all-conference second team pick in track & field as a competitor in the high jump, hurdles, and 4 x 400 meter relay. Personal - Carries an early childhood education major at Cedarville University.....born 9/14/82 in Longmont, CO.....daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ruffin.....older brother, Zach, and older sister, Casey Paugh, are both CU graduates and former Yellow Jacket tennis standouts.....Casey currently serves as an assistant coach with the Lady Jackets.
