2005 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Results
Netters named top NAIA Scholar-Team Hartman and Michonski were joined by Emanuel Dolph as NAIA All-America Scholar-Athletes. Juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average secure a spot in the elite group. The threesome was also recognized as American Mideast Conference Scholar-Athletes. [SEE NAIA SCHOLAR-TEAMS, NAIA ALL-AMERICA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES, and AMC SCHOLAR-ATHLETES] CU athletes receive NCCAA honors Tim Hartman, Jacob Bezeck, Emanuel Dolph, and Jared Michonski were all named NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athletes. The list includes juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average. Hartman was selected to the NCCAA All-America Team in both singles and doubles for the third consecutive year. His doubles teammate, Michael Rhoads, joined him on the All-America squad. [NCCAA MEN’S TENNIS AWARDS] Netters' season ends at NCCAA; finish 17-8 The Jackets’ only point against Olivet Nazarene came at #1 doubles when Tim Hartman and Michael Rhoads pulled out a 9-8 victory. The Tigers won the other two doubles matches and then posted victories at #3, #5, and #6 singles to clinch the outcome. [RESULTS] The 5-0 score versus Bethel was much closer than the final indicates. The Pilots scrambled for 9-8 victories at #1 and #2 doubles to go along with an 8-5 win at #3 doubles. They closed out the match with wins at #2 and #6 singles with both matches going three sets after CU players won the opening set in each match. [RESULTS] The Yellow Jackets could not take advantage of the two points surrendered to them by Palm Beach Atlantic. Cedarville’s #3 doubles team of Jacob Bezeck and Jared Michonski as well as #6 singles player Emanuel Dolph were winners by default. However, the Sailfish won the other two doubles matches as well as the singles contests at the #3, #4, and #5 positions to earn the victory. [RESULTS] | |||||||||||||||
