Justin Gutierrez will continue his Yellow Jacket career on the track in the distance events.....appeared in six varsity cross country meets in 2004 and finished among CU’s top seven runners four times.....posted a career-best 27:03 effort in the 8K at the NCCAA Nationals placing 34th of 145 competitors.....had a time of 27:20 at the Louisville Classic.....finished 20th in the American Mideast Conference Championship in 27:51.

High School - Assembled a notable distance running career at Flint-Kearsley High School.....three-year letter winner in cross country.....two-time all-conference and all-region honoree.....served as team captain for two years and was Most Valuable Runner as a senior.....earned three letters in track & field.....helped lead team to 2004 Division II state championship as well as the Big 9 Conference and region titles.....member of 4 x 800 meter relay team that was state runner-up.....achieved all-region and all-conference honors.....named to the Academic All-State units in both cross country and track & field.....National Honor Society student.
