Mark Swan is in his third season with the Yellow Jackets competing in the middle distance events.....prepped for the season by appearing in five varsity cross country meets in the fall.....season’s best time for the 8K was 27:35 at the Friendship Invitational. 2003-04 - NCCAA Indoor All-American on the track in the 800 meters by placing 2nd in 2:01.50.....fastest indoor time was 2:00.51.....ran a career-low 1:58.99 in the outdoor 800 to finish 5th at Muskingum.....clocked in 1:59.22 at the Miami Invitational and placed 7th in the American Mideast Conference in 1:59.47.....ran in four varsity meets as a sophomore.....season’s best time was 29:00 at Ohio Northern. 2002-03 - Ran an outdoor season-best of 2:00.22 in the 800 meters to place 3rd at the Taylor Invitational.....saw action in five varsity cross country meets as a freshman.....ran a career-best 27:00 in the 8K at the Wilmington Classic to place 24th overall. High School - Four-year letter winner in cross country and track at Mt. Ararat High School.....two-time indoor state track runner-up in the 800 meters.....named all-state in indoor track as a junior and senior.....Eastern Maine Regional champion in the 800; 1,600; 4 x 400; and 4 x 800.....member of state record-setting 4 x 800 meter relay team.....all-conference runner on the track specializing in the middle distances.....part of three regional track & field championship teams and one team that won the conference crown.....three-time all-conference and All-Eastern Maine Region runner.....turned in a personal-best cross country time of 16:37 for the 5,000 meters.....member of three league championship teams and one regional title squad.....achieved scholar-athlete recognition. Personal - Carries an English major at Cedarville University.....born 6/29/83 in Rockport, ME.....son of Edward and Pamela Swan.....has five younger brothers and a younger sister.
