LOUISVILLE, Ky. (5-28-2005) - Samantha Maat achieved NAIA All-America recognition in the 10,000 meters for the second straight year at the NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The sophomore distance specialist placed 4th with a time 36:50.24. The top six finishers in each event are All-Americans.

The only other Lady Jacket to score (top 8) was Sarah Ensslen, who finished 7th in the triple jump with a leap of 38-feet 3.50-inches. She was also 16th in the long jump at 17-3.25. Christina Reyes was 10th in the 1,500 meter final with a time of 4:42.94. Her preliminary time of 4:38.27 placed 5th in her heat. Reyes also anchored the 4 x 800 meter relay unit that narrowly missed by one position qualifying for the final. The quartet, which included Keri Hilty, Audree Goodew, and Melissa Wysong, turned in a time of 9:16.35 which was .15 seconds away from the 9th and final position to advance.

In other events, Emily Peacock placed 16th in the hammer throw (144-feet 8-inches) and Samantha Maat qualified for the 5,000 meter final (18:05.92), but elected not to run. Also, Rachael Castro, a five-time NAIA All-American in the pole vault, attempted to return to action for the first time since breaking her foot in the first outdoor meet of the season on March 19, but she failed to successfully clear the opening height of 11-8.
