  • Rachael Castro returns to the Lady Jackets for her final season as an outstanding pole vault performer.....five-time NAIA and five-time NCCAA All American in the event.....one of five team captains.....NCCAA indoor pole vault champion last season.....NAIA Indoor & Outdoor, NCCAA Indoor & Outdoor All American.....placed 3rd at the NAIA Outdoor Championships with an effort of 11-feet 10.50-inches and 11-11.75 at the NAIA Indoor Championships.....broke school record in both indoor (12-3) and outdoor event (12-3.50).....captured the Depauw Indoor Invitational title....also finished 1st at the Yellow Jacket Open, Ohio University Invitational, Ohio Northern Invitational, and Muskingum Invitational.....NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete and NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete.

    2003 - Finished 4th at the NAIA Outdoor Championship with a vault of 11-5.75 to repeat as an NAIA All-American.....took the pole vault title at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship by clearing 11-feet even to repeat as NCCAA All American.....repeated as pole vault champion at the American Mideast Conference Championship by clearing an AMC-record 11-feet even.....also captured pole vault titles at the Taylor Invitational (10-6), Wilmington Invitational (11-feet even to meet NAIA automatic qualifying mark) and the Emory Classic (10-5.5).....upped her own school record with a vault of 11-feet even at the NCCAA Indoor Championship to capture 1st place.....finished 9th at the NAIA Indoor Championship with a vault of 10-8.

    2002 - Assembled an incredible rookie season as a pole vaulter......earned both NAIA and NCCAA All-America honors in 2002.....placed 2nd at the NAIA Outdoor Championships with a vault of 11-11.75 which broke her own school record by a foot.....finished 3rd at the NCCAA Outdoor Nationals by clearing 10-11.75.....captured 1st place in the AMC with a mark of 10-feet even.....won the Denison Indoor Invitational, Denison Indoor Qualifier, and the Butler Outdoor Invitational.

    High School - Member of the National Honor Society at Abington Heights High School.....won the school’s Musical Performance Award in flute.....competed for seven years in gymnastics before attending Cedarville.....member of the USAG Junior Olympic National Team.

    Personal - Dean's List student as a early childhood education major at Cedarville University.....born 3/14/83 in Fairborn, OH.....daughter of Jack and Michelle Castro.....has two older sisters and a younger brother.
