May 26-28, at NAIA Outdoor Championship
Samantha Maat achieved NAIA All-America recognition in the 10,000 meters for the second straight year at the NAIA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The sophomore distance specialist placed 4th with a time 36:50.24. The top six finishers in each event are All-Americans. The only other Lady Jacket to score (top 8) was Sarah Ensslen, who finished 7th in the triple jump with a leap of 38-feet 3.50-inches. She was also 16th in the long jump at 17-3.25. Christina Reyes was 10th in the 1,500 meter final with a time of 4:42.94. Her preliminary time of 4:38.27 placed 5th in her heat. Reyes also anchored the 4 x 800 meter relay unit that narrowly missed by one position qualifying for the final. The quartet, which included Keri Hilty, Audree Goodew, and Melissa Wysong, turned in a time of 9:16.35 which was .15 seconds away from the 9th and final position to advance. In other events, Emily Peacock placed 16th in the hammer throw (144-feet 8-inches) and Samantha Maat qualified for the 5,000 meter final (18:05.92), but elected not to run. Also, Rachael Castro, a five-time NAIA All-American in the pole vault, attempted to return to action for the first time since breaking her foot in the first outdoor meet of the season on March 19, but she failed to successfully clear the opening height of 11-8. May 12, at Indiana Wesleyan Qualifier
Emily Peacock met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark in the hammer throw with her 1st-place effort at the Indiana Wesleyan Qualifier. She unleashed a career-best heave of 152-feet 9-inches to win the event at the non-scoring meet. Peacock also finished 6th in the discus at 114-8.25. Two other Lady Jackets competed and both won their events. Keri Hilty finished 1st in the 400 meter dash in 58.79 seconds while Christina Reyes won the 800 meters in 2:20.14. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

May 5-7, at NCCAA Outdoor Championship
Sarah Ensslen repeated as triple jump champion and also won the long jump at the NCCAA Outdoor Championships at Indiana Wesleyan University. Malone won the team title with 137 points while the Lady Jackets placed 5th out of 14 schools with 106 points. Ensslen won the long jump with an effort of 18-feet 2.25-inches which also met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark. Her winning mark in the triple jump was 37-6. Cedarville’s only other victory came from Samantha Maat in the 10,000 meters with a time of 36:43.52. The Jackets produced seven other All-America performances (top three finishers). The 4 x 400 meter relay unit of Courtney Reid, Rachel Anderson, Christina Reyes, and Keri Hilty placed 2nd in 3:59.45. The 4 x 100 meter relay quartet of Deb Sweede, Courtney Reid, Bonnie Wright, and Jade Vasa was 3rd in 50.11 seconds. Individually, Maat finished 2nd in the 5,000 meters in 17:57.20. Reid was 3rd in the 200 meter dash (25.77) and 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles (15.29). Reyes placed 3rd in the 800 meters (2:16.93) and Emily Peacock was 3rd in the hammer (143-2). April 22-23, 14th Annual AMERICAN MIDEAST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Sarah Ensslen won the long jump and triple jump, and the 4 x 800 meter relay team set meet and school records, as the Lady Jackets placed 3rd in the 14th Annual AMC Championships at Cedarville University. The 10-team event featured a 2 ½ hour snow delay on Saturday and then resumed in 40 degree temperatures, light rain, 25-35 mph wind, and a wind chill that at times dipped to the low 20's. Ensslen went 18-feet 0.75-inches to win the long jump on the first day of competition. Her winning leap in the triple jump during Saturday’s blustery conditions was 36-5.25. The 4 x 800 meter relay unit of Samantha Maat, Audree Goodew, Christina Reyes, and Keri Hilty posted a winning time of 9:13.99 which easily met the NAIA qualifying standard for the national meet. Their effort also broke the AMC meet record by 20 seconds and the CU school record by 21 seconds. Maat later won the 5,000 meters in 19:14.45. In other top performances, Emily Peacock was 2nd in the hammer (124-11), Christina Reyes was 2nd in the 800 meters (2:26.94), the 4 x 100 meter relay team was 2nd (51.31), Keri Hilty was 3rd in the high jump (4-8), and the 4 x 400 meter relay squad was 3rd (4:19.82). Malone repeated as team champion with 163 points. Rounding out the top five were Roberts Wesleyan, 134; Cedarville, 130; Geneva, 108; and Rio Grande, 99. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

April 16, at Taylor Invitational
Bonnie Wright won the long jump and Christina Reyes placed 1st in the 800 meters to lead the Lady Jackets at the Taylor Invitational. Cedarville finished 4th as a team with 91.50 points to trail champion Saint Joseph’s, 194; Indiana Wesleyan, 126.50; and the host Trojans, 124. Wright won the long jump with a leap of 17-feet 2.75-inches. She was also 3rd in the 100 meter dash in 13.11 seconds. Reyes’ winning time in the 800 was 2:18.15. Among other top CU performances, Keri Hilty was 2nd in the 400 meters (58.98), Jade Vasa placed 3rd in the triple jump (34-2.50), Megan Gier was 3rd in the long jump (16-9) and 4th in the triple jump (33-11.75), and Emily Peacock finished 3rd in the shot put (35-5.50). April 9, at Miami Invitational
Samantha Maat and Christina Reyes both met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard in their respective events at the Miami Invitational. Maat, has already qualified for the NAIA in the 10K, was 4th in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:32.70. Reyes placed 6th in the 1,500 meters in 4:43.67. Elsewhere, Sarah Ensslen finished 7th in the triple jump with a leap of 36-feet 3.50-inches while Keri Hilty was 9th in the 800 meters in 2:18.07. The 4 x 400 meter relay squad of Hilty, Reyes, Courtney Reid, and Megan Gier was 7th in 4:02.28. Ball State totaled 144.50 points to win the 13-team meet which features 10 NCAA Division I schools. April 2, at Emory Classic
Sarah Ensslen and Christina Reyes each won two events to pace the Lady Jackets to the Emory University Classic championship. Cedarville won the 19-team event with 125 points and was followed by the host Eagles (123) and Kennesaw State (119). Ensslen finished 1st in the triple jump with an effort of 33-feet 11.50-inches to go along with a 1st-place showing in the long jump (16-11.50). Reyes narrowly won both the 800 (2:20.32) and 1,500 meters (4:52.22). The Lady Jackets’ other winner was Samantha Maat in the 10K with a time of 37:22.26 which met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. Elsewhere, Jada Vasa was 2nd in the triple jump (33-11.50) and Megan Gier was 3rd (33-10); Emily Peacock placed 2nd in the hammer (133-4); the 4 x 400 meter relay squad of Keri Hilty, Geir, Reyes, and Courtney Reid was 2nd (4:06.68); and the 4 x 100 meter relay unit of Vasa, Reid, Bonnie Wright, and Ensslen was 3rd (51.36). March 25, CEDARVILLE OPEN
Christina Reyes won the 800 and 1,500 meter runs as the Lady Jackets placed 2nd out of 12 teams in the Cedarville Open. Malone won the meet with 151 points and was followed by Cedarville (146) and Wright State (145) in the standings. Reyes won the 800 with a time of 2:19.75 and she was clocked in 4:51.32 in the 1,500. Sarah Ensslen took 1st place in the triple jump at 34-feet 4-inches and Kari Hilty won the high jump at 5-feet even. In other top performances, Ensslen was 2nd in the long jump (16-1.50), Megan Gier finished 2nd in the triple jump (32-10.50), Emily Peacock placed 2nd in the hammer (131-1), and both relay squads were 2nd. March 19, at Cincinnati Relays
Rachael Castro and Christina Reyes were individual winners as the Lady Jackets opened the outdoor season at the Cincinnati Relays. Castro met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark and broke her own school record in winning the pole vault by clearing 12-feet 6-inches. Her old mark was 12-3.50. Reyes won the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:46.40. She was also 3rd in the 800 at 2:21.28. Sarah Ensslen finished 3rd in the triple jump (36-9.50), Samantha Maat was 5th in the 1,500 (4:51.02), and Emily Peacock placed 5th in the hammer (139-10). Bowling Green State won the team title with 147 points. The Falcons were following in the 12-team field by Cincinnati (130), Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne (66), and Cedarville (61). March 3-5, at NAIA Indoor Championship
Senior pole vaulter Rachael Castro placed 2nd to earn All-America honors for the fifth time in her career to pace the Lady Jackets at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Samantha Maat was 4th in the 5,000 meters while Sarah Ensslen was 6th in the triple jump to also achieve All-America status (top 6 finishers). Castro cleared 12-feet 7.50-inches in the pole vault for her second straight NAIA All-America showing indoors. She has finished no worse than 4th place in three previous NAIA outdoor meets with her final one looming in May. Maat set a school record in the 5K with a time of 17:27.16 to repeat as an NAIA All-American in the event. Ensslen did the same in the triple jump with a leap of 38-feet even. Elsewhere, Leanne Crunelle was 8th in the 3,000 meter race walk (18:32.80), Emily Peacock was 21st in the weight throw (41-5.25), and Bonnie Wright was 28th in the long jump (15-11.50). Feb. 19, at NCCAA Indoor Championship
Cedarville had five individual champions and ten All-America performances in all at the NCCAA Indoor Championship which was staged on the campus of the University of Findlay. The Jackets, who tied for 2nd place as a team out of 12 schools, also set two meet records, four school records, and had two athletes meet the NAIA automatic qualifying standard in their events. Rachael Castro won her second straight NCCAA indoor pole vault crown and upped her own school record to 13-feet even which was also a new meet record. It also improved the NAIA automatic qualifying mark she had achieved earlier. Sarah Ensslen set another meet record as she repeated as triple jump champion with a leap of 36-3. Samantha Maat met the NAIA qualifying standard with a convincing win in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:53.54. Cedarville also picked up victories from Bonnie Wright in the long jump (17-1.50) and Emily Peacock in the weight throw (48-2.50). Christina Reyes set a pair of school records with 2nd-place finishes in both the mile (5:05.03) and 800 meters (2:18.69). Another school mark came from the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Ensslen, Megan Gier, Courtney Reid, and Reyes who placed 4th in 4:10.89. Other All-Americans (top 3 finishers) were Maat in the 3,000 (3rd; 10:21.07) as well as Gier in both the long jump (3rd; 16-8) and triple jump (3rd; 34-8). Feb. 12, at All-Ohio Indoor Championship
Christina Reyes set a new school record and met the NAIA indoor qualifying mark in the mile run at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships. She placed 10th with a time of 5:07.18 which nipped the previous school record of 5:07.94 set by Jane Romig Brooker in 1986. Rachael Castro was 3rd in the pole vault by clearing 11-feet 5.75-inches. They were the only two Lady Jacket athletes to compete in the event. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

Feb. 12, at DePauw Indoor Invitational
Samantha Maat qualified for the NAIA mile run and Courtney Reid set a school record in the 200 meter dash at the DePauw Indoor Invitational. Maat finished 3rd in the mile with a time of 5:12.39 while Reid’s time of 26.92 in the 200 lowered the old school mark set by Lauren Mable last year by 0.02. Leanne Crunelle was 6th in the 1,000 meters (3:18.75), Emily Peacock was 8th in the weight throw (45-2.50), Bonnie Wright placed 9th in the long jump (17-0), Megan Gier was 9th in the triple jump (34-8.25), and the 4 x 200 meter relay unit was 7th in 1:52.15. Feb. 4, CEDARVILLE INDOOR INVITATIONAL
Christina Reyes and Sarah Ensslen both met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard in their event and the Lady Jackets won the first Cedarville Invitational in the new Doden Field House. Reyes, who last week qualified in the 3,000 meters, won the 800 meters in 2:22.04. Ensslen qualified in the triple jump with a 2nd-place effort of 37-feet 7.75-inches. Reyes was also a winner in the mile run with a time of 5:14.71 and the Jackets grabbed 1st-place finishes in three others events. The trio featured Emily Peacock in the weight throw (43.7.75), Rachael Castro in the pole vault (11-6), and Samantha Maat in the 5,000 meters (18:36.52). The Lady Jackets totaled 154.5 points to win the eight-team event. Also among the top three teams were Wright State with 106.5 points and Wilmington with 78. [COMPLETE RESULTS and PHOTO GALLERY]

Jan. 28-29, at Findlay Classic
Four Lady Jackets met the automatic qualifying standard for the NAIA Indoor Championships in their respective events at the Findlay Classic. Five-time NAIA All-America pole vaulter Rachael Castro led the way by clearing 12-feet 5.50-inches to place 2nd. Samantha Maat and Christina Reyes, both NAIA All-Americans in cross country during the fall season, each qualified in the 3,000 meters. Maat was 6th in 10:19.70 while Reyes was 7th in 10:30.26. The other qualifier was Leanne Crunelle in the 3,000 meter race walk where she was timed in 19:24.69 to finish 8th. [COMPLETE RESULTS]

Jan. 21, at Ohio Northern
Christina Reyes won the 1,500 meters as the Lady Jackets opened the 2005 indoor season at Ohio Northern University. Findlay easily won the eight-team event while the host Polar Bears were 2nd and Cedarville was 3rd. Reyes copped the 1,500 meter event in 4:58.93 while teammate Samantha Maat was 2nd in 5:00.95. Both runners were NAIA All-Americans in cross country during the fall campaign. Sarah Ensslen placed 2nd in the triple jump at 34-feet 4-inches, Jade Vasa was 3rd (33-1.75), and Megan Gier was 4th (32-11.75). Bonnie Wright was 2nd in the long jump at 16-8 while Gier was 4th at 16-1.75. Emily Peacock finished 3rd in the weight throw (43-3.25) and Ahna Buckwalter was 3rd in the 800 meters (2:34.09).
