Matt Houchin is back for his second season with the Yellow Jackets after transferring from Volunteer State Community College.....played in all 43 games as a freshman with 42 starts.....batted .284 with 10 extra base hits and 23 RBI's which ranked second on the club.....tied for the team lead with three triples and tied for second with 21 walks.....recorded nine two-hit games and drove in a season-high four RBI's in a win versus Taylor.....put together a seven-game hitting streak.....also made three pitching appearances.

High School - Played four seasons of baseball with three letters at William Henry Harrison High School.....selected to the All-Fort Ancient Valley Conference First Team as a senior and to the Mizuno All-Ohio squad.....named school's Co-Male Athlete of the Year.....posted a three-year .430 batting average and 1.75 ERA......member of 2004 regional championship squad.....earned two letters in four seasons of basketball.....averaged 17 points per game as a senior; led team in scoring, assists, rebounds, and free throw percentage; named all-conference first team; and was the MVP as named by the Harrison Press.....two-year letter winner in golf.
