Phil Ellis is one of Cedarville's most experienced players.....has appeared in 63 career matches with 58 starts.....can play either the midfield or defender positions.....started all 23 matches in which he played as a junior and was tabbed team MVP.....tied for fourth on the club in scoring with two goals and two assists for six points.....voted to the NCCAA Midwest Region First Team and was NCCAA All-America honorable mention.....named to the American Mideast Conference South Division Second Team.....netted the first goal in a 2-1 double overtime win at Wittenberg.....also scored in a 6-2 decision over AMC foe Shawnee State.....recorded assists in victories against conference opponents Malone and Ohio Dominican.....NAIA and NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
2003 - Played in 21 matches as a sophomore with 16 starts.....recorded two assists and both aided game-winning goals.....set up the deciding score in a 3-2 overtime win versus Wittenberg and assisted on the winning goal in a 3-1 victory at Marian.
2002 - Made an immediate contribution as a rookie midfielder.....started all 19 matches in which he played.....ranked second on the team with seven goals and five assists for 19 points.....All-NCCAA Midwest Region Second Team selection.....scored the first goal of the campaign and assisted on the game winner in a 2-1 season-opening win at Georgetown.....scored in a 1-0 victory at Indiana Wesleyan.....had a goal with an assist in a 2-1 win at Malone.....scored the game winner in a 3-1 victory over Ohio Domincan which was CU’s first-ever night match on campus....had an assist in a 1-0 AMC playoff win at Notre Dame College.
High School - Four-year letter winner at Kings High School.....recorded 14 goals and 15 assists as a senior.....netted 10 goals and 11 assists as a junior while being named to the All-Ohio Division II Third Team.....All-District Southwest Ohio and All-Fort Ancient Valley Conference First Team selection in each of his final two seasons.....two-time Team MVP.....scored six goals with 14 assists as a sophomore.....member of two Fort Ancient Valley Conference championship teams.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s Honor List student as a finance major at Cedarville University.....born 5/15/84 in Dearborn, MI.....married to Lauren Sato, a former all-region and all-conference soccer player with the Lady Jackets.....son of Dale and Nancy Ellis.....has one older brother.
