Oct. 22, at Shawnee State
The Lady Jackets ended the season with a 3-0 win at Shawnee State in an American Mideast Conference South Division match to halt a lengthy winless skid. Cedarville, who finishes 5-10-1 overall and 2-5-1 AMC, had gone without a win since a 1-0 decision at Rio Grande on Sept. 13 going 0-9-1 in the process. Lisa Blackburn's team-high fifth goal of the season in the 8th minute was all the visitors needed. The score was stuck on 1-0 until the 61st minute when Katie Mariani netted her fourth goal of the campaign with an assist from Jessica Thomas. Nicole James closed out her four-year career by converting a penalty kick in the 84th minute. Cedarville outshot the Bears 23-4 including a whopping 16-0 margin in the second half. The shots on goal difference was 15-3 and goalkeeper Sarah Gibson made three saves en route to her third shutout of the season. [STATS]

Oct. 18, URBANA
Urbana held off a Cedarville rally for a 3-2 AMC South Division win in the home finale for the Lady Jackets. The outcome kept the CU women winless in their last ten outings. The Blue Knights, 8-9 overall and 3-4 AMC, bolted to a 3-0 bulge. Urbana scored in the 13th and 18th minutes for a comfortable two-goal halftime lead prior to getting what would be the game winner in the 60th minute. Cedarville, 4-10-1 and 1-5-1 AMC, bounced back with unassisted goals by Karen Ruhlman in the 65th minute and Jessica Schmidt in the 84th minute before running out of time. The Jackets peppered 21 shots toward the Urbana goal compared to nine for the Blue Knights including a 15-2 margin in the second half. Cedarville had an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal. [STATS]

Oct. 15, WALSH
It took nine meetings, but Walsh finally knocked off Cedarville in women's soccer, 2-1, during an American Mideast Conference South Division match. The Lady Jackets had been 6-0-2 in the season series versus the Cavaliers, now 8-4-2 overall and 4-1-1 AMC. Walsh started the scoring in the 21st minute, but Katie Mariani knotted the contest at 1-1 seven minutes later with her third goal of the season. Karen Ruhlman was credited with an assist. The match remained deadlocked until the Cavs netted the game winner in the 52nd minute. Walsh assembled a 17-6 shot advantage including a 10-2 margin in the second half. The visitors put eight shots on goal compared to three for Cedarville, 4-9-1 and 1-4-1 AMC. Sarah Gibson totaled six saves in goal. [STATS]

Oct. 12, at Ohio Dominican
Ohio Dominican took control with an early goal and went on to hand the Lady Jackets a 2-0 setback in an American Mideast Conference South Division match. The Panthers, 8-6 overall and 4-2 AMC, got on the board in the 7th minute. CU, 4-8-1 and 1-3-1 AMC, missed a penalty kick in the 23rd minute that would have tied the match. Ohio Dominican netted an insurance goal in the 54th minute to account for the final. The hosts held a 17-7 margin in shots and a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. [STATS]

Oct. 8, SAINT CLAIR (Ontario) - Exhibition
Three first-half goals stood up for the Lady Jackets in a 3-0 win versus Saint Clair (Ontario) during a "friendly" match played on Homecoming. The contest was an exhibition for Cedarville against the community college from Windsor with no stats counting on the official records. Katie Mariani banged in a rebound off the keeper in the 17th minute for all that CU would need. Jessica Schmidt drilled home a 25-yarder in the 36th minute, and Becky Kirby scored from Krista Watson with 2:10 left in the half for what would be the 3-0 final. Cedarville enjoyed an 18-1 shot advantage overall and an 11-1 margin in shots on goal. Sarah Gibson, Kelly Teague, and Ann Felix combined for the shutout in goal. [STATS]

Oct. 4, MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE
The Lady Jackets ended a six-match losing streak with a 1-1 double overtime tie against Mount Vernon Nazarene in AMC South Division action. The Cougars, 8-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 AMC, entered the contest with a six-game winning streak and ranked No. 3 in NAIA Region IX. MVNU got on the board in the 8th minute, but the visitors were shut down the rest of the way thanks to a career-high 13 saves in goal by Sarah Gibson. Cedarville, 4-7-1 and 1-2-1 AMC, finally got the equalizer when Lisa Blackburn hammered in a 20-yard shot in the 65th minute for her team-high fourth goal of the season. Colleen Derry was credited with the assist. Overall shots were relatively close with Mount Vernon Nazarene holding an 18-17 edge. However, the Cougars enjoyed a 14-6 margin in shots on goal. [STATS]

Oct. 1, at Malone
Malone scored three times in the first half en route to a 3-0 victory over Cedarville in an American Mideast Conference South Division match. The contest completed a difficult seven-match road swing for the Lady Jackets, 4-7 overall and 1-2 AMC. The Pioneers, 6-4-1 overall and 1-1 AMC, netted the only goal they needed in the 22nd minute. Malone put some insurance on the board later in the half with two scores in a span of 1:23 to account for the final. Statistically the match was closer than the final score indicated. The hosts held a 12-9 shot advantage overall and an 8-6 edge in shots on goal. [STATS]

Sept. 28, at Tiffin
Tiffin rallied for two goals in the second half to edge the Lady Jackets, 2-1, in an American Mideast Conference South Division match. It was the fifth straight setback for Cedarville, 4-6 overall and 1-1 AMC, who still has one game remaining on a brutal seven-match road swing. CU struck first in the 14th minute when Kristin Merkel jumped on a deflected corner kick and buried the ball into the back of the net for her first career goal. The Jackets maintained the 1-0 advantage until the Dragons, 7-2 and 2-0 AMC, turned up the intensity in the second period. Tiffin had a 12-5 shot advantage in the frame and eventually tallied goals in the 59th and 69th minutes. Cedarville has never solved the Dragons in 11 meetings on the soccer field (0-9-2). [STATS]

Sept. 24, at Otterbein
NCAA Division III Otterbein handed the Lady Jackets their fourth straight setback with a 3-0 non-conference decision. It was the fourth win in a row for the Cardinals, 6-1. Otterbein outshot CU 19-10, but their advantage in shots on goal was just 7-5. The hosts needed only 13 minutes to get on the board. The Lady Jackets, now 4-5, were whistled for a hand ball in the box which gave the Cardinals a penalty kick in the 31st minute for a 2-0 lead. Otterbein redirected a corner kick in the 56th minute to complete the scoring. [STATS]

Sept. 22, at Ohio Northern
Ohio Northern netted three unanswered goals, two of which came in the second half, to beat the Lady Jackets, 3-1, in a non-conference match. The outcome was the first victory for the Polar Bears, 5-2-1 overall, in four meetings against Cedarville. Junior forward Katie Mariani put CU on the board first in the 14th minute with her second goal of the season. Colleen Derry assisted. After that, it was all ONU. The Polar Bears tied the contest in the 29th minute which resulted in a 1-1 deadlock at the intermission. The hosts clinched the victory with goals in the 52nd and 61st minutes. Ohio Northern held a 19-10 advantage in shots and 11-3 in shots on goal. It was the third straight setback for the Lady Jackets, 4-4, in what was the fourth match of a seven-game road swing. [STATS]

Sept. 17, at Indiana Wesleyan (Indiana Wesleyan Classic)
NAIA No. 22 Indiana Wesleyan netted the game winner in the 69th minute to beat Cedarville, 2-1, in the Wildcat Classic. The hosts remain unbeaten this season at 6-0-1. IWU held a 1-0 halftime lead after scoring in the 23rd minute. The Lady Jackets, now 4-3, got the equalizer in the 64th minute when Karen Ruhlman netted her third goal of the season with Jessica Schmidt assisting. The Wildcats produced the winner five minutes later. Indiana Wesleyan outshot Cedarville 12-5 overall and 6-2 in shots on goal. [STATS]

Sept. 16, Saint Francis IN (Indiana Wesleyan Classic)
Saint Francis (Ind.) ended Cedarville's four-match winning streak with a 1-0 decision over the Lady Jackets at the Indiana Wesleyan Classic. The Cougars, 5-2, scored in the 58th minute for the game's only goal. USF outshot CU 14-3 overall and 8-1 in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Sarah Gibson was credited with 7 saves. It was the third straight 1-0 game played by the Lady Jackets, now 4-2. [STATS]

Sept. 13, at Rio Grande
Lisa Blackburn scored in the 19th minute and the Lady Jackets blanked Rio Grande, 1-0, in their AMC South Division opener. It was Cedarville's fourth consecutive victory with the last two coming via shutout. The Redwomen, who are in their first year as a varsity program, were dominated statistically but were able to stay in the game. Blackburn's goal, her team-high third of the season, came on an assist from Nicole James. The Jackets, 4-1 overall, held a whopping 23-2 shot advantage and they put 15 on goal compared to one for Rio, who falls to 1-3 overall and 1-3 AMC South. Sarah Gibson made one save in goal for her second shutout of the campaign. [STATS]

Sept. 10, GRACE
Karen Ruhlman's first-half goal held up as Cedarville edged Grace, 1-0, in a non-conference match. The outcome extended the Lady Jackets' winning streak to three straight heading into a seven-match road swing. Ruhlman took a cross from Nicole James just inside the top of the 18 and tucked the ball inside the left post in the 41st minute for her second goal of the season. CU, 3-1 overall, had a number of other scoring opportunities thanks to a 17-4 shots advantage including nine that went on goal. Sarah Gibson was credited with her first career shutout despite not having to make a save. The visiting Lancers, 3-3, failed to put a shot on goal and had their three-match winning streak snapped. Sept. 6, at Taylor
Lisa Blackburn scored twice to lead the Lady Jackets to a 3-1 win at Taylor in non-conference action. It was the second straight victory for CU following a season-opening loss while the host Trojans dip to 2-4 overall. The two teams had each split two decisions in the Cedarville Classic over the weekend, but did not play one another. Blackburn, who was second on the 2004 club in scoring with 11 goals, got the offense going with her first goal of the season in the 4th minute on an assist from Abby Price. Katie Mariani made it 2-0 in the 17th minute with Colleen Derry assisting. The score remained that way until the Trojans got on the board in the 73rd minute, but Blackburn needed just two minutes to account for the final with an unassisted goal. Taylor had a 19-10 advantage in total shots and a 12-6 margin in shots on goal. Cedarville did not attempt a corner kick in the match while the Trojans had eight. Sarah Gibson was credited with 11 saves in goal for the Lady Jackets. [STATS]

Sept. 3, GENEVA (Cedarville Classic)
The Lady Jackets bounced back from their season-opening setback to shut down Geneva, 3-0, to wrap up the Cedarville Classic. The hosts took control with two goals in the first half and junior goalkeeper Sarah Gibson recorded her first career shutout while making three saves. Karen Ruhlman gave the Jackets all they needed with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute. Deb Sweede tallied her first collegiate goal 15 minutes later with Jessica Schmidt assisting. Amanda Cole completed the scoring in the 83rd minute with her first career goal on an assist from Katie Mariani. Cedarville, 1-1 overall, outshot the Golden Tornadoes 13-7 including a 6-3 margin in shots on goal. Geneva falls to 0-3-1. Seton Hill defeated Taylor, 3-1, in the early game. [STATS]

Sept. 2, SETON HILL (Cedarville Classic)
Seton Hill put together three quick scores in the second half en route to a 3-1 victory over the Lady Jackets in the first round of the Cedarville Classic. The Griffins, 2-0, broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 53rd minute. It stayed that way until the visitors scored twice in a span of 45 seconds midway through the period for a commanding 3-0 bulge. CU, playing in its season opener, broke the shutout in the 82nd minute on Krista Watson's unassisted goal. Seton Hill outshot the Jackets 17-8 overall and 12-5 in shots on goal. Taylor defeated Geneva, 6-2, in the first contest. [STATS]
