Christian Maat is a second-year thrower for the Yellow Jackets.....participated in five indoor meets during his freshman season in the weight throw with a season-best effort of 40-feet 7-inches at the NCCAA Championship.....moved to the outdoor circuit where he placed 5th in the American Mideast Conference hammer throw at 135-2.50 which was a season-best.....also recorded top marks in the discus (109-1) and javelin (127-3).

High School - Competed four years in track & field at Kenowa Hills High School.....two-year letter winner.....specialized in the discus placing 5th in the region and 5th in the conference.....established a career-high effort of 132-feet 10-inches.....played two years of football with two letters.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Dean's List student as a business administration major at Cedarville University.....born 7/20/87 in Grand Rapids, MI.....son of Ray and Sheryl Maat.....older sister, Samantha Modderman, is a senior NAIA All-America distance runner for the Lady Jackets.....also has two younger brothers.
