Justin Gutierrez is one of the Yellow Jackets' top returning runners.....earned American Mideast Conference Second Team honors after placing 11th out of 147 runners in 26:47.....CU's #2 finisher at the NAIA Nationals with a career-best effort of 26:19....finished 20th at the NCCAA Nationals in 26:21.....placed 5th in the 5,000 meters in 15:55.06 at the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship to help guide the Jackets to the title.

2004 - Appeared in six varsity meets as a freshman and was among the Yellow Jackets' top seven finishers four times.....ran a season-best 27:03 at the NCCAA Nationals placing 34th of 145 competitors.....CU's #4 finisher in the American Mideast Conference Championship and placed 20th overall with a time of 27:51.....participated during the indoor and outdoor track seasons.....placed 5th in the 5K at the NCCAA Indoor Championship in 15:40.43.....finished 5th in the NCCAA outdoor 10K in 32:54.99.

High School - Assembled a notable distance running career at Flint-Kearsley High School.....three-year letter winner in cross country.....two-time all-conference and all-region honoree.....served as team captain for two years and was Most Valuable Runner as a senior.....earned three letters in track & field.....helped lead team to 2004 Division II state championship as well as the Big 9 Conference and region titles.....member of 4 x 800 meter relay team that was state runner-up.....achieved all-region and all-conference honors.....named to the Academic All-State units in both cross country and track & field.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Carries a pre-seminary Bible major at Cedarville University.....born 2/16/86 in Flint, MI.....son of John and Susie Gossett.....has two younger brothers and a younger sister.
