Julie Martz is a third-year runner with the Lady Jackets.....appeared in four of the first five varsity meets as a sophomore before having her season ended with an injury.....posted a career-best 19:03 at the Friendship Invitational as CU's #4 finisher and placed 17th overall.....clocked in 19:41 at the Louisville Classic.

2004 - Had a notable freshman season in which she saw action in seven out of eight meets.....finished among CU's top five finishers in every outing.....made her debut at the Hope Invitational with a season-low 19:12 for the 5K to place 4th overall.....team's #3 finisher and 16th overall at the Georgetown Classic in 19:49.....earned American Mideast Conference honorable mention recognition with a 15th-place showing in the league meet in 20:01.....squad's #4 finisher in each of the final three meets of the season.....placed 21st overall at the NCCAA Nationals in 19:22......ran 20:09 or faster in all seven meets and broke the 20:00 barrier five times.

High School - Experienced an outstanding career at Indiana high school cross country power Valparaiso.....team won state championship her freshman, junior, and senior years with a 2nd-place finish her sophomore season.....two-time all-state performer placing 23rd overall in both her sophomore and seniors years.....finished 31st in the state as a junior.....two-time all-semi-state performer.....earned all-regional honors three times and all-sectional recognition four times.....three-time All-Duneland Athletic Conference runner.....represented Indiana in the 2003 Mideast Meet of Champions against five other states after being one of the top ten seniors in the state meet.....four-year letter winner in track & field.....National Honor Society student.
