Neil Henning is a four-year Yellow Jacket and one of CU's top throwers.....NCCAA indoor champion in the shot (56-7.50) and weight throw (52-10.75) with both marks personal bests.....placed 3rd in the NCCAA outdoor shot put (50-0.50) for All-America honors.....season-best toss was 50-9.50 in the Cedarville Qualifier.....participated in the NAIA Championships indoors in the shot put and outdoors in the hammer.....recorded a season-best hammer throw of 162-7 at Miami.....finished 4th in the NCCAA (162-6) and 3rd in the AMC (157-11).
2006 - Established a career-best heave in the outdoor shot put of 53-11 at the Indiana Wesleyan Qualifier which at the time was a school record.....placed 7th at the NAIA Outdoor Nationals at 51-11.25 and was 15th in the hammer with a career-best toss of 165-4.....NCCAA All-American indoors with 3rd-place showings in the shot put (50-5) and weight throw (50-1.50).....posted a season-best effort of 50-9.25 in the indoor shot put at Ohio Northern.
2005 - Assembled an outstanding freshman season in the throwing events.....NCCAA Indoor All-American in the shot put with a toss of 48-9 to place 3rd.....broke the school record with a heave of 50-0.50 at the DePauw Invitational.....placed 19th at the NAIA Indoor Championship (47-9.25).....finished 5th in the weight throw (45-2.50) at the NCCAA Indoor.....had a season-best effort of 48-10 outdoors at Indiana Wesleyan.....placed 5th in the hammer at the AMC meet (143-7).....finished 5th in the javelin at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship at 165-5.
High School - Placed 5th in the shot put at the Ohio Division II Championship as a senior at Greenon High School with a heave of 54-7.25.....two-year letter winner in soccer as a goalkeeper and lettered once in wrestling.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Carries a graphic design major at Cedarville University.....born 7/21/85 in Monroeville, PA.....son of Dr. Nelson and Elaine Henning.....father is a Professor of Social Work at the University.....has an older sister and a younger sister.
