Joshua Saunders will compete in the middle distance events in his third season on the track.....ran in six varsity cross country meets and was among the team's top seven on four occasions.....best time in the 8K was 27:17 at the NCCAA Nationals which placed 43rd of 156 runners.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
2006-07 - Competed primarily in the 800 meters during the track & field season.....best indoor time was 1:55.25 in the prelims at the NAIA Championship.....placed 4th indoors at the NCCAA Championship in 1:55.52 to help the Jackets to their second straight title.....fastest outdoor mark was 1:55.54 at the NCCAA Nationals......member of two school-record 4 x 800 meter relay teams.....joined Daniel Roberts, Kevin Kuhn, and Kurt Groman outdoors to place 2nd in the AMC Championship in 7:49.83 while indoor foursome included Jud Brooker, Kuhn, and Groman with a clocking of 7:53.18 in the prelims of the NAIA Championship.....participated in the first seven varsity cross country meets and placed among the team's top seven each time out.....turned in a career-best 26:24 effort at the NAIA Region IX Championship as the Jackets' #6 finisher.....had a time of 26:32 at the Louisville Classic.
2005-06 - NCCAA Indoor All-American on the track in the 800 meters by finishing 2nd in 1:57.96.....part of NCCAA title squad.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American in the 4 x 800 meter relay following a runner-up finish.....fastest time in the outdoor 800 meters was 1:57.52 at the Miami Invitational.....recorded a 4:06.02 performance in the 1,500 at Anderson.....appeared in four varsity cross country meets as a freshman.....best time was 27:27 at the Cedarville Invitational.
High School - Earned four letters in track & field at Lawrence High School.....three-time all-conference and all-academic honoree outdoors.....earned the same awards twice indoors.....school and conference record holder in the outdoor 800 meters at 1:57.22.....holds school indoor marks in the 400 and 800.....four-year letter winner in soccer.....school won 2002 Eastern Maine title as well as state championship.....all-conference and all-academic selection in soccer.....played three years of basketball with one letter.....National Honor Society student.
