May 1, at Walsh (NAIA Region IX Tournament - Semifinals)
Host and #2 seed Walsh roughed up #3 Cedarville, 8-1, in the semifinals of the NAIA Region IX Tournament. The Cavaliers, 9-9 overall, put themselves in prime position to win their seventh consecutive match after sweeping the three doubles matches. Their five singles victories all came in straight sets. The lone point for the Lady Jackets came at #2 singles where freshman Joy Kellogg hung on for a 7-6, 3-6, 10-4 decision. Cedarville has dropped three straight to fall to 9-6 for the season heading into the NCCAA National Tournament. [RESULTS]
April 24, OHIO DOMINICAN
Ohio Dominican clinched the American Mideast Conference title with a convincing 9-0 win over the Lady Jackets at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex. Cedarville drops to 9-5 overall and finished third in the AMC standings with a 5-2 mark. Seniors Olivia Dolph, Alisa Rutt, and Melinda Workman made their final appearance on the home courts of their four-year careers. [RESULTS]
April 19, at Walsh
Walsh handed Cedarville its first American Mideast Conference setback by a 6-3 count. The Lady Jackets, 9-4 overall and 5-1 AMC, got off to a good start with two victories in doubles by identical 8-3 scores. The winners were #2 Alisa Rutt and Olivia Dolph as well as #3 Georgiann McClure and Carissa Parmerlee. Cedarville managed just one singles victory as the Cavaliers rallied to win. April 18, MALONE
The Lady Jackets remained unbeaten in the American Mideast Conference with a convincing 7-2 win over Malone at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex. Cedarville, 8-4 overall and 5-0 AMC, grabbed a 2-1 lead after doubles. The #1 pairing of Joy Kellogg and Melinda Workman were 8-3 winners and the #3 duo of Georgiann McClure and Carissa Parmerlee came out on top, 8-1. The Jackets claimed five of the doubles matches. April 12, at Indiana Southeast
Cedarville won five out of six singles matches to come away with a 6-3 non-conference indoor victory at Indiana Southeast. The #2 doubles pair of Alisa Rutt and Olivia Dolph posted a 9-7 win. That left it up to the singles competition and the Lady Jackets responded to improve their overall record to 8-3. Rutt was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at the #1 spot and #5 Dolph needed three sets for a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 decision. Other victories came from #2 Joy Kellogg (6-3, 7-5), #4 Georgiann McClure (7-5, 7-5), and #6 Carissa Parmerlee (7-6, 6-2). [RESULTS]
April 8, at Shawnee State
The Lady Jackets dominated Shawnee State, 9-0, to remain undefeated in the American Mideast Conference. Cedarville surrendered a mere four points in doubles play. Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg won for the eighth time in ten matches with an 8-1 decision. Other winners were Alisa Rutt and Olivia Dolph (8-1) and Georgiann McClure with Carissa Parmerlee (8-2). The singles line-up cruised to victory in straight sets. April 7, GEORGETOWN
NAIA No. 21 Georgetown blanked Cedarville 9-0 in a non-conference match played at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex. The Tigers, 10-2 overall, were impressive from the start as they dropped just six points total in the three doubles matches. The visitors won all six singles matches in straight sets. April 4, at Roberts Wesleyan
The Lady Jackets improved to a 3-0 in the American Mideast Conference with a 7-2 victory at Roberts Wesleyan in a match played indoors. Cedarville, 6-2 overall, won points at #2 and #3 doubles. Alisa Rutt and Olivia Dolph teamed up for a 9-7 win while Georgiann McClure and Carissa Parmerlee were 8-5 winners. Highlighting the five singles victories was #3 Melinda Workman picking up her 40th career win in a 6-1, 6-4 decision. Wittenberg handed the Lady Jackets a 5-4 setback in a non-conference match played indoors at the Springfield Racquet Club. The outcome ended Cedarville's four-match winning streak. Singles was played first and CU earned points from #1 Alisa Rutt (6-2, 7-5) and #4 Georgiann McClure (1-6, 6-4, 6-3). In doubles, the #1 duo of Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg moved to 7-0 this spring with an 8-4 win. Cedarville won two doubles and four singles matches to claim a 6-3 win versus Grace in a non-conference match played indoors at the Springfield Racquet Club. The Lady Jackets have won four straight to improve to 5-1 overall. The #1 doubles team of Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg remained unbeaten in six matches this spring following an 8-6 triumph. Olivia Dolph and Carissa Parmerlee were 8-4 winners at the #3 spot. In singles, #1 Alisa Rutt posted her 40th career victory with a 7-6, 6-4 decision. The Lady Jackets won their third straight match with an 8-1 American Mideast Conference victory against Ursuline. The chilly contest was staged at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex where wind chills dipped into the 30's. Cedarville, 4-1 overall and 2-0 AMC, won all but six games in sweeping the doubles. Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg posted an 8-3 win at #1 doubles. Alisa Rutt and Georgiann McClure played at #2 and registered an 8-1 decision while #3 Olivia Dolph and Carissa Parmerlee cruised to an 8-2 win. March 28, CARLOW (at Springfield Racquet Club)
Cedarville coasted to a 9-0 victory over Carlow to begin the American Mideast Conference season in a match played indoors at the Springfield Racquet Club. The Lady Jackets, 3-1 overall, dropped just 12 games total and won two matches via forfeit. Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg moved up to #1 doubles while Alisa Rutt and Georgiann McClure played in the #2 spot. Both tandems posted 8-0 wins. The pair of Olivia Dolph and Carissa Parmerlee was awarded a victory by forfeit. Rutt and Workman were 6-0, 6-0 winners in the top two singles positions. March 15, NORTHWESTERN OHIO (at Springfield Racquet Club)
The Lady Jackets overwhelmed Northwestern Ohio, 9-0, in a non-conference match played indoors at the Springfield Racquet Club. Cedarville, 2-1 overall, dropped just five games total in sweeping the three doubles matches. In singles, #1 Alisa Rutt was a 6-1, 6-1 winner and #3 Melinda Workman posted a 7-6, 6-1 decision. March 7, Michigan Tech (at Kissimmee, Fla.)
NCAA Division II Michigan Tech dealt the Lady Jackets an 8-1 setback in non-conference action. The lone point for the Lady Jackets came at #2 doubles. Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg posted an 8-5 victory. The Huskies then proceeded to sweep all six singles matches to close out the match. [RESULTS]
March 3, at Southeastern
Cedarville began the 2008 women's tennis season with a 6-1 victory at Southeastern in a non-conference match. The Lady Jackets earned the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. Melinda Workman and Joy Kellogg posted an 8-4 win at the #1 spot, Alisa Rutt and Georgiann McClure were 8-0 winners, and Olivia Dolph and Carissa Parmerlee came out on top, 8-5.
