Monica Duffell begins her second season as a middle-distance runner for the CU track & field squad.....captured the 800 meter event at the Wittenberg Invitational with a season-best 2:27.00 performance.....placed second in the mile run at the Findlay Indoor Open with a 5:32.35 effort.....earned a sixth-place finish in the mile run at the Ohio Northern Outdoor Invitational (5:36.86).
2006 - Competed her freshman season with the Lady Jacket cross country team.....appeared in four meets for the NAIA nationally-ranked squad.....season-best effort of 20:25 came in the Cedarville Invitational to place 28th of 141 runners.
High School - Four-year letter winner in cross country and track & field at Punxsutawney Area High School.....Pennsylvania state qualifier in cross country in each of the first three years of her prep career.....on the track, qualified for the state meet individually in the 800 and 1,600 meters as well as the 3,200 meter relay.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Carries a business & Spanish double major as a Dean's List student at Cedarville University.....born 3/27/88 in Punxsutawney, PA.....daughter of Jerry and Karen Duffell.....older sister, Jackie, ran track and cross country at Geneva College.....has another older sister.....younger sister, Jessica, is a first-year runner at Robert Morris University.
