Tara Leaman is back for her second season as a thrower with the Lady Jacket track team.....registered 104 individual points last season.....earned NCCAA All-America honors by winning the title with a 133-3 effort.....named to the American Mideast Conference Second Team for her school-record javelin toss of 135-2.....also captured javelin titles at the Yellow Jacket Outdoor Open and the Cedarville Outdoor Open.....won the discus (118-11) and hammer (136-5) events at the Yellow Jacket Outdoor Open.....also ran in the 55 meter, 60 meter and 100 meter hurdle events.
High School - Participated in three sports at Tacoma Baptist High School.....earned four letters in track.....team captured Washington Class B state titles in 2005 and 2006......named to all-league first team both junior and senior seasons.....holds school records in 100 meter high hurdles, javelin and discus.....also member of school record-setting 4 x 100 meter relay squad.....placed in four events in the state meet as a senior - 2nd in the discus, 4th in the hurdles, 4th in the javelin and 4th in the 4 x 100 meter relay.....three-year letter winner in basketball.....played in East-West All-Star game during junior campaign.....earned two letters in soccer at Tacoma Baptist and one letter at Puyallup High School.....National Honor Society student.....served as student body president....voted homecoming queen.....earned Blue/Gold Award as best all-around senior athlete.
Personal - Carries a criminal justice major at Cedarville University....born 2/25/88 in Puyallup, WA.....daughter of Tim and Darcy Leaman.....older brother, Beau, played football at Azusa Pacific University.....also has a younger brother and sister.
