May 1-3, at NCCAA Outdoor Championship
Sarah Ensslen set a school and meet record, won three events, and tied for second in another while being voted the Outstanding Performer of the Meet at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship. The Lady Jackets finished as the runner-up out of 14 schools. Ensslen won the long jump with a school and meet record effort of 19-feet 6-inches. She claimed her fourth triple jump title at 40-10.50 and tied for 2nd in the high jump at 5-3. Ensslen was also part of the winning 4 x 100 meter relay unit with Bethany Davies, younger sister Johanna Ensslen, and Mandy Montzka in 48.53. Courtney Reid won her third straight 100 meter hurdles title with a school and meet record time of 14.44 seconds. She repeated as the 400 meter hurdles champion in 1:02.53 and joined Davies, Johanna Ensslen, and Montzka to win the 4 x 400 meter relay in 4:00.24. Elisabeth Pyles copped the 3,000 meter steeplechase for the third straight time in 11:06.96. Davies was a winner in the 800 meters in 2:14.89. Other All-Americans (top three finishers) included Lydia Wong in the 800 (2nd; 2:15.67) and 1,500 (2nd; 4:39.11); Brittany Simpson in the 5,000 (2nd; 17:56.56) and 1,500 (3rd; 4:45.31); Nicole Santos in the 10,000 (2nd; 38:06.15) and 5,000 (3rd; 17:59.07); and Tara Leaman in the javelin (2nd; 131-2). April 18-19, at American Mideast Conference Championship
Sarah Ensslen set two AMC records and was named the Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet as Cedarville repeated as American Mideast Conference champions. She was one of five Lady Jackets to win two individual events and Jeff Bolender was voted the AMC Coach of the Year. Ensslen won the triple jump with a mark of 40-feet 10.25-inches and took the long jump title at 18-8.50. Both were new meet records. She was also part of the 4 x 100 meter relay unit along with Bethany Davies, Courtney Reid, and Marla Rice that finished 2nd in a school-record time of 48.52 seconds that met the automatic NAIA qualifying standard. Reid won the 100 meter hurdles in 14.86 seconds and the 400 meter hurdles in 1:04.21. Her time of 14.82 in the 100 meter hurdle prelims qualified her for the NAIA. Tara Leaman was an automatic qualifier in the javelin with her winning heave of 134-1. She also won the discus at 136-2. Elisabeth Pyles won both the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:17.85) and the 5,000 meters (17:57.73). Lydia Wong was victorious in the 800 (2:15.51) and 1,500 (4:50.63). Davies set a new school record in winning the 400 meters in 56.95 seconds. She teamed up with Wong, Rice, and Brittany Simpson to win the 4 x 800 meter relay with an NAIA automatic qualifying time of 9:33.80. Cedarville totaled 214.33 points to edge host Malone by three points. Notre Dame College was third in the eight-team field with 138 points while Walsh had 111. April 11-12, at Miami Invitational
Brittany Simpson automatically qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship in the 5,000 meters with her effort at the Miami Invitational. She placed 8th overall in a time of 17:53.94. Sophomore thrower Tara Leaman finished in the Top 20 in three events. She was 9th in the javelin with a heave of 120-feet 9-inches. Leaman placed 13th in the discus (120-2) and 17th in the hammer (143-2). [RESULTS]

April 10-12, at Tennessee Relays
Sarah Ensslen placed 6th in the triple jump and met the NAIA qualifying mark in the long jump to pace the Lady Jackets at the Tennessee Relays. Ensslen, the defending NAIA outdoor triple jump champion, had a performance of 41-feet 5-inches which finished 6th of 30 competitors. She also qualified for the NAIA long jump with a leap of 18-10.50 which placed 18th of 30. Lydia Wong automatically qualified in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:41.49. Bethany Davies finished in the middle of the field in the 800 meters in 2:19.34. The meet consisted predominantly of NCAA Division I schools. [RESULTS]

April 5, at Cincinnati Invitational
Bethany Davies won the 800 meters and Sarah Ensslen took first in the triple jump to lead Cedarville to a 5th-place finish at the University of Cincinnati Invitational. The host Bearcats easily won the 19-team meet and were followed by Ashland, Bowling Green, Findlay, and the Lady Jackets. Davies crossed the line in the 800 in 2:13.07 while teammate Lydia Wong was 2nd in 2:14.09. Both athletes met the NAIA automatic qualifying mark. Ensslen, already an automatic qualifier in the triple jump, won her second straight competition this spring with a leap of 40-feet 0.50-inches. The 4 x 400 meter relay squad of Davies, Mandy Montzka, Wong, and Marla Rice was also an NAIA automatic qualifier. Their 3rd-place time was 3:56.77. Elsewhere, Tara Leaman was 2nd in the javelin with a heave of 121-7. Courtney Reid was 4th in the 100 meter hurdles (15.26), Brittany Simpson was 6th in the 1,500 (4:48.51), and Emily Flores tied for 7th in the pole vault (10-8). March 29, CEDARVILLE OUTDOOR OPEN
The Lady Jackets won seven events and had three athletes qualify for the NAIA Nationals while winning their own Cedarville Track & Field Open. The hosts totaled 170 points and runner-up Tiffin had 119. There were ten teams in all. Defending NAIA national triple jump champion Sarah Ensslen easily won with a mark of 40-feet 2-inches to automatically qualify for the 2008 championship. Elisabeth Pyles won the 5,000 meter run in 17:57.59 and Nicole Santos was 3rd in 18:01.13. Both met the automatic NAIA qualifying standard in the event. Courtney Reid won the 100 meter hurdles in 15.36 seconds and the 400 meter hurdles in 1:06.23. Emily Flores was a winner in the pole vault (11-3) with other top CU finishes coming in the 4 x 100 (50.09) and 4 x 400 (4:06.53) meter relays. [RESULTS]

March 22, at Emory Invitational
Cedarville opened the outdoor track & field season by winning four events at the Emory Invitational and placing second as a team. Sophomore thrower Tara Leaman finished in the top three of three events. She won the discus with a toss of 122-feet 7-inches, was 2nd in the hammer at 125-11, and placed 3rd in the javelin at 118-11. Lindsay Stone was victorious in the hammer with a heave of 130-feet even. Other wins came from Lydia Wong in the 1,500 meters (4:45.02) and Elisabeth Pyles in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:06.48). Elsewhere, Courtney Reid was 2nd in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.21) and 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles (15.27). Bethany Davies placed 2nd in the 800 meters (2:16.89) and the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Marla Rice, Maria Balch, Davies, and Mandy Montzka finished 3rd in 4:02.03. The marks turned in by Pyles in the steeple and Reid in the 400 meter hurdles met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard in those respective events. March 6-8, at NAIA Indoor Championship
Bethany Davies, Keri Hilty, and Courtney Reid earned All-America recognition in two events each and three other Lady Jackets were honored as well at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Cedarville tied for 6th place as a team. The top six finishers in each event are All-Americans and Davies finished 3rd in the 600 meters in 1:34.04 while Hilty was 5th in 1:35.50. Reid placed 5th in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.10 seconds. The trio teamed up with freshman Mandy Montzka to finish 3rd in the 4 x 400 meter relay in a school-record time of 3:49.75. Lydia Wong broke her own school record in the mile with a runner-up mark of 4:54.79. Nicole Santos was CU's other All-American finishing 5th in the 5,000 meters in 17:47.34. Elsewhere, Elisabeth Pyles was 7th in the 5K in 17:54.34 and Emily Flores ended up 13th in the pole vault by clearing 10-feet 11.75-inches. Montzka was 6th in her prelim heat of the 400 meters in 1:00.14 and Stacey Keller placed 6th in her heat of the mile in 5:18.42. Wayland Baptist (Tex.) won the team championship with 71 points to nip runner-up Azusa Pacific (Calif.), 70. Simon Fraser (B.C.) totaled 59 points and was followed by Oklahoma Baptist, 47; Black Hills State (S.D.), 35; and Cedarville and McKendree (Ill.) tied with 26 points each. Feb. 29, at Ohio Northern
Keri Hilty easily won the 800 meters at the Ohio Northern Friday Night Series. She posted a time of 2:19.82 to win the event by more than 10 seconds. Hilty's mark was the 9th-fastest indoors for the 800 meters in school history. She also owns the 2nd, 4th, and 7th-fastest times in the list. Hilty was the Lady Jackets' lone representative at the meet. She will complete her career at the NAIA Indoor Championship. [RESULTS]

Feb. 23, NCCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Courtney Reid was part of four All-America efforts and set three school records in the process to lead the Lady Jackets to their third consecutive title at the NCCAA Indoor Championship. Cedarville recorded 164 points in the Doden Field House to outdistance runner-up Bethel, 124, and 3rd-place Greenville, 101. Reid set a school record in winning the 200 meter dash in 25.87 seconds which also met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. She established another record in the 55 meter hurdles with a first-place time of 8.29 seconds. Reid was part of the winning 4 x 200 meter relay team along with Keri Hilty, Johanna Ensslen, and Emily Flores with a school-record mark of 1:48.28. She also joined Hilty, Marla Rice, and Bethany Davies to win the 4 x 400 in 4:01.78. Davies won the 400 meters in a school-record time of 58.37 seconds and Nicole Santos was a winner in the 5,000 meters in 18:00.49. The Lady Jackets posted nine other All-America performances (top 3 finishers). Santos was 2nd in the 3,000 meters in 10:34.46; Hilty was 2nd in the 800 meters (2:18.09) and 3rd in the long jump (16-8); Lydia Wong was 2nd in the mile (5:04.22) and 3rd in the 800 (2:19.95); Mandy Montzka was 3rd in the 400 (59.51); Elisabeth Pyles was 3rd in the 5,000 (18:00.50); Tara Leaman was 3rd in the weight throw (44-11.75); and the 4 x 800 meter relay team of Monica Duffell, Audree Goodew, Brittany Simpson, and Emily DeRusha was 2nd in 10:11.12. Four juniors earned recognition as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. The list includes Stacey Keller, Elisabeth Pyles, Nicole Santos, and Brittany Simpson. Feb. 15, at Findlay Open
Lydia Wong set a new school record and qualified for the NAIA Championship in winning the 800 meters at the Findlay Open. She won the event with a time of 2:15.70 to break the old mark of 2:17.12 set two years ago by teammate Keri Hilty. It's the fourth indoor school record for Wong and the second that she has set this winter. She previously established a new mark in the mile. Wong also has a part in the 4 x 800 meter relay and the distance medley records set last year. Courtney Reid won the 60 meter hurdles in 9.12 seconds and was 2nd in the 400 meters in 59.49 seconds. Hilty finished 2nd in the 600 meters (1:36.30) and Brittany Simpson was 3rd in the mile (5:21.96). There were no team scores in the meet. [RESULTS]

Feb. 8, at Ohio Northern
Bethany Davies and Courtney Reid each set school records with impressive showings at Ohio Northern. The Lady Jackets finished second with 140.5 points in the nine-team field as the host Polar Bears won with 196 points. Davies won the 300 meters in a school-record time of 41.74 seconds to go along with another victory in the 400 meters in 59.11. Reid took 0.02 seconds off of her previous school record in winning the 55 meter hurdles in 8.47 seconds which also met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard. Lydia Wong grabbed first place in the 800 meters in 2:19.56 while Nicole Santos won the 3,000 meters in 10:25.76. Both athletes automatically qualified for the NAIA Championship. Other Lady Jacket winners included Maria Balch in the mile (5:31.68), Keri Hilty in the 500 meters (1:18.06), and the 4 x 200 meter relay unit of Johanna Ensslen, Emily Flores, Hilty, and Reid (1:48.93). Feb. 1-2, at Indiana Relays
Five Cedarville individuals and one relay team qualified for the upcoming NAIA Indoor Championship with solid performances at the Indiana Relays. The Lady Jackets also set two school records in the process. Lydia Wong finished 5th in the mile in a time of 5:00.95 to take nearly four seconds off her school record established last season. The other new record came from the 4 x 400 meter relay foursome of Marla Rice, Keri Hilty, Mandy Montzka, and Courtney Reid in 3:57.77 which placed 14th overall. Other automatic qualifiers included two runners in the 5,000 meters. Elisabeth Pyles was 7th in 18:01.13 and Nicole Santos was 10th in 18:06.31. Two more came in the 600 meters where Hilty finished 7th in the finals in 1:37.14 and Bethany Davies was 8th in 1:37.30. Davies turned in a faster time in the prelims in 1:36.19. Jan. 25, at Capital Invitational
Courtney Reid set a new school record in winning the 300 meter dash at the Capital Invitational where the Lady Jackets finished second of nine schools. Cedarville won five events in all. Reid covered the 300 meters in 42.08 seconds to take 0.40 seconds off her previous record set last year. Keri Hilty won the 800 meters in 2:21.83 and both athletes teamed up with Bethany Davies and Marla Rice to grab the 4 x 400 meter title in a Capital Center record time of 4:07.61. Elisabeth Pyles set another field house record in the 3,000 meters in 10:32.39. Monica Duffell won the 1,000 meters in 3:21.40. Ohio University easily won the team title with 217 points. CU was second in the nine-team field with 118.50 points and Capital was third with 111. [RESULTS]

Jan. 18, CEDARVILLE INDOOR INVITATIONAL
Keri Hilty, Lydia Wong, and Tara Leaman were each victorious as the Lady Jackets began the 2008 indoor schedule by winning the 11-team Cedarville Indoor Invitational. Hilty won the 400 meters in a time of 61.20 seconds. Wong was a winner in the 800 in 2:23.69 and Leaman took first in the weight throw with a heave of 43-feet 11.75-inches. Cedarville won the 11-team meet with 166 points. Wright State was second with 101.67 points and Wilmington was third at 56. [RESULTS]
