Shannon DeRusha begins her first season with the CU cross country team after participating on the track & field squad in 2006.....competed in the 800 meters.....fastest outdoor time was 2:24.0 and best indoor effort was 2:27.37.
High School - Produced a successful three-sport career at Milford High School.....earned four letters in track & field.....team captured four consecutive Kensington Valley Conference titles.....two-time regional champions (2002 and 2005).....four-time all league honors in 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 relays.....earned all-state recognition in the 4 x 800 meter relay during junior campaign.....4 x 800 quartet set a school record of 9:24 in 2004.....four-year letter winner in cross country.....team grabbed regional titles in 2001 and 2004.....two-time KVC league champions.....three-year performer in volleyball.....squad captured three KVC league titles and two district championships.....earned all-area recognition as a senior middle hitter.....holds school record for most block assists in a season.....Girls State representative in 2004.
Personal - Carries a nursing major at Cedarville University.....born 3/20/87 in Ypsilanti, MI.....daughter of Kent and Catherine DeRusha.....older brother, Dan, was a distance runner at the United States Air Force Academy.....younger sister, Emily, is a freshman distance runner at CU.
