Melissa Wysong returns to complete her cross country career.....sat out the entire 2006 schedule.....competed on the track in the 800 and 1,500 meters.....placed 6th in the NCCAA outdoor 1,500 in 4:52.81.....best time in the 800 was 2:30.0 which placed 2nd at Wittenberg.
2005 - Recovered from injury to run in seven of eight cross country meets.....best effort was a 19:45 at the NAIA Championship which placed 141st of 259 runners.....posted a 19:53 outing at both the Cedarville Invitational to place 37th and the Louisville Classic which placed 81st.....ran in four indoor track meets and two outdoor meets during the 2006 campaign.
2004 - Was not able to complete the season with the Lady Jacket cross country squad after suffering an injury in the season-opening Hope Invitational.....participated in just two track meets.....posted a 2:29.10 effort in the 800 meters at the Miami Invitational.
2003 - Produced a solid freshman season.....NCCAA All-American after placing 14th at the national meet in a career-best time of 19:16 for the 5K.....ran in all nine varsity meets and broke the 20:00 barrier seven times.....earned AMC honorable mention by finishing 17th in 19:44.....placed 10th in the Cedarville Invitational in 19:35 and was 8th at the Wilmington Classic in 19:39.....finished among CU's top five runners in the last eight meets of the season.....ran the 800 and 1,500 meters during the outdoor track & field season.
High School - Assembled an outstanding career at West Noble High School.....four-year letter winner in cross country and track.....named to the Indiana All-Star Team in cross country as the 9th-fastest senior in the state.....member of championship squad in Mid-East Race of Champions.....qualified for the state meet as a senior and placed 27th overall in 15:18.4 for the 4,000 meters.....finished 13th in the semi-state meet with a career-best 14:31 effort after placing 9th in the regional in 15:30.....four-time All-Northeast Corner Conference selection and four-time all-sectional.....three-time all-area honoree.....member of three conference championship teams.....ran on the varsity as a freshman for a squad that added sectional, regional, and semi-state titles before finishing 3rd in the state.....NECC 1,600 and 3,200 meter champion on the track as a senior.....placed 2nd in both events in the sectional.....four-year regional qualifier.....part of two NECC track title teams.
Personal - Dean's List student as a business marketing major at Cedarville University.....born 4/23/85 in Goshen, IN.....daughter of Jay and Sandy Wysong.....has one younger brother, Mitch, who is a junior at the University.
