May 13-14, at NCCAA Invitational
Cedarville finished eighth of nine schools in the NCCAA Invitational played at the Hidden Creek Golf Club in Sellersburg, Indiana. Spring Arbor MI repeated as champions of the 36-hole event at 302-299-601. The Yellow Jackets had a 342-348-690. Jeremy Birk paced Cedarville at 83-88-171. Will Barnes of Southern Wesleyan SC took medalist honors at 72-71-143.
May 8-9, at Mid-Ohio Conference Championships
The Yellow Jackets placed seventh out of eight schools at the MOC Championships played annually at the Apple Valley Golf Club in Mount Vernon. The scheduled 54-hole event was shortened to 36 holes after rain postponed the opening round after nine holes. Shawnee State won its first title with a 630 total and was followed by Walsh (632) and two-time defending champion Malone (634). The rest of the field included Findlay (643), Mt. Vernon Nazarene (660), Tiffin (675), Cedarville (703), and Urbana (732). Joel Schenk paced the Yellow Jackets at 83-91-174. Other Cedarville scores included Steve Burchett (88-87-175), Jeremy Birk (94-83-177), Troy Page (89-91-180), and Brodie Swanson (92-90-182). Walsh's Jason Carr took medalist honors at 74-79-153.
April 29, 16th ANNUAL CEDARVILLE INVITATIONAL
Shawnee State won the 16th Annual Cedarville Invitational golf title on a beautiful day at the prestigious Country Club of the North in Beavercreek. The Bears totalled 303 to nip Mt. Vernon Nazarene, who finished at 305. The rest of the eight-team field included Walsh (312), Findlay (317), Clark State (321), Tiffin (330), Cedarville (343), and Cincinnati Bible (408). Walsh's Kevin Kitchen took medalist honors with an even-par 72 over the 6,713 yard Jack Nicklaus layout. Yellow Jacket scores were Troy Page (81), Jeremy Birk (84), Brodie Swanson (84), Joel Schenk (94), and Steve Burchett (95). (COMPLETE TOURNAMENT RESULTS)
April 21, at Tiffin Invitational
Cedarville finished seventh of ten teams at the Mohawk Country Club with a 355 total. Findlay won it at 306 and was followed by Heidelberg and Mt. Vernon Nazarene, who were both at 320. Yellow Jacket scores were Steve Burchett 83, Jeremy Birk 89, Troy Page 91, Joel Schenk 92, and Brodie Swanson 94. Tiffin's Ryan Merkel claimed medalist honors with a one-over par 73.
April 14, at Walsh Invitational
The Yellow Jackets finished seventh of 11 teams at the Walsh University Invitational played at the Tam O'Shanter Golf Course. Malone took the top two spots with the Pioneer "A" team totalling 299 and the "B" unit at 311. The host Cavaliers and Mt. Vernon Nazarene tied for third at 314. Cedarville had a 341. Troy Page carded an 83 for the Yellow Jackets and was joined by Jeremy Birk (85), Brodie Swanson (86), Steve Burchett (87), and Joel Schenk (88). Malone's Kenny Koprivic took medalist honors with a 72.
April 3, at Urbana Invitational
Cedarville placed seventh of 12 schools at the Urbana University Blue Knight Invitational which was staged at the Woodland Golf Club. Shawnee State comfortably secured the title with a 306 while Heidelberg finished with a 322 total and Mt. Vernon Nazarene was at 323. The Yellow Jackets totalled a 349. Scores were Jeremy Birk (84), Steve Burchett (88), Troy Page (88), Brodie Swanson (89), and Joel Schenk (90). Shawnee State's Tony Brown won a four-way playoff for medalist honors after carding a four-over par 75.
March 29, at Shawnee State Invitational
The Yellow Jacket linksters opened the season finishing 11th of 12 teams at the Shawnee State Invitational played at the Elks Country Club in McDermott, Ohio. The host Bears won the event with a 302 total with Cleveland State (306) and Findlay (320) rounding out the top three. Cedarville scores were Steve Burchett (85), Troy Page (89), Joel Schenk (91), Jeremy Birk (92), and Brodie Swanson (96). Tony Caporaletti of Cleveland State took medalist honors with a one-under par 71.
