Steve Burchett, a senior Pre-Seminary Bible major from Morral, Ohio, became the first Yellow Jacket golfer to ever be named an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete. The elite list recognizes juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Burchett was a four-year letter winner at Cedarville.
Russ Toms, shown putting during the 17th Annual Cedarville College Invitational at Country Club of the North, finished with the lowest stroke average for the Yellow Jackets in 1998. The freshman from Marion, Indiana averaged 81.1 strokes per 18 holes which included a season-low 77 at the Walsh Invitational.
Matt Dunn, a freshman from Hamilton, Ohio, hits from Country Club of the North's 10th tee during the 17th Annual Cedarville College Invitational. The rookie carded five rounds of 80 on the season including one on this day which paced the team. Dunn's low round of the season was a 77 at the Urbana Invitational and he averaged 81.3 for the entire campaign.
