April 28, WITTENBERG
Cedarville ended the season by sweeping Wittenberg, 4-0 and 6-2, in a non-conference doubleheader. Bonnie Schaefer pitched the hosts to victory in both contests which included her first shutout of the season in the first game. She scattered ten hits while her teammates recorded 11 hits to provide support. Andrea Butz was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Elissa Morrison was 2-for-4 with a run scored. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] Cedarville trailed 2-1 in the nightcap before scoring twice in the fourth inning and three more times in the sixth. Butz was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Morrison was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Beth Weaver doubled and scored two runs for the Yellow Jackets. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
April 27, at Rio Grande
Rio Grande took a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader from the Lady Jackets, 4-1 and 5-3. Becky Summers went 3-for-4 in the first game while Bonnie Schaefer added a double. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the second game, Cedarville stranded 12 runners and did not dent the plate until scoring three times in the seventh inning. Julie Schaefer was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI's, Beth Weaver was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Noella Fisher was 2-for-4 with a double. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
April 25, at Taylor
Taylor defeated the Lady Jackets, 5-2, but game two of their non-conference twinbill was rained out. Three of Cedarville's four hits came in the seventh inning when they scored their two runs. Noella Fisher doubled in the game with singles coming from Maria Lattanzio, Julie Schaefer, and Andrea Butz. [BOXSCORE]
April 23, URBANA
The Lady Jackets ended an 11-game losing streak after splitting a non-conference doubleheader with Urbana. Cedarville dropped the first game, 10-1, but bounced back to claim the nightcap, 8-2. The Jackets managed only two hits in the opener. The Blue Knights scored nine times in their final three at bats to pull away. April 21, at Shawnee State
Six-time defending Mid-Ohio Conference champion Shawnee State swept a doubleheader at Cedarville, 6-1 and 12-1. The Lady Jackets managed only three hits in the opener with two of those coming from Noella Fisher. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, a seven-run fifth inning closed the deal for the Bears. Cedarville had four hits and Maria Lattanzio scored the only run. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
April 18, at Malone
Malone took a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader from Cedarville, 3-1 and 6-3, as big first-inning outputs carried the Pioneers. The hosts scored all three of their runs in the opening frame of the first game. Two of the Yellow Jackets' five hits came from Elissa Morrison, who supplied an RBI single in the fifth. April 14, at Urbana
Urbana swept the Lady Jackets in a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader, 10-2 and 9-3. The first game was halted after five innings due to the eight-run rule. Noella Fisher was 3-for-3 for the Jackets with a double and a triple. Maria Lattanzio was 2-for-3. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, the visitors had a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the third inning, but the Blue Knights plated seven unanswered runs to take command. April 7, at Tiffin
Tiffin swept a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader from the Lady Jackets, 3-2 and 2-0. The Dragons made the most of five hits in the opener and they broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fourth inning. Sarah Bishop was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Cedarville while Maria Lattanzio tripled in the other run. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In game two, the Jackets were checked on five hits in being shutout for the fourth time this spring. Five separate players had the hits and only one Yellow Jacket runner reached third base. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
April 4, WALSH
Walsh swept a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader from the Lady Jackets, 5-0 and 10-5. Cedarville was checked on three hits in the opener in being shut out for the third time this season [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] The Jackets held a 5-2 lead after four innings of the nightcap before surrendering eight straight runs over the final three innings. Maria Lattanzio singled in two runs for Cedarville while Andrea Butz scored twice. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
April 2, at Mt. Vernon Nazarene
Cedarville grabbed its first victory of the season by outlasting Mt. Vernon Nazarene 7-5 in nine innings in the second game of a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader. The Cougars won the opener 5-2. In the first game, MVNC jumped to a 5-0 lead after two innings and held on . The Jackets got their two runs in the sixth. Bonnie Schaefer was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Beth Weaver doubled in a run. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In the nightcap, Beth Weaver broke a 5-5 tie in the ninth inning by singling home Becky Summers. Bonnie Schaefer's two-out single scored Maria Lattanzio with an insurance run. Lattanzio was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Weaver and Schaefer were both 2-for-4 with 2 RBI's. The victory offset four double plays turned in by the MVNC defense. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
March 31, OHIO DOMINICAN
Ohio Dominican rallied twice to take a Mid-Ohio Conference doubleheader, 27-7 and 6-5 in eight innings, in the home opener for the Lady Jackets. Trailing 7-4 in the opener, ODC plated 23 unanswered runs including 14 in the seventh inning. A school record 13 errors by Cedarville led to 17 unearned runs and the 27 total runs allowed was the most in school history surpassing the 25 Urbana scored in a game four years ago. Maria Lattanzio paced the home offense by going 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, two doubles, three RBI's, and two runs scored. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE] In game two, the Jackets took a 3-2 lead into the seventh inning, but the Panthers scored three times and Cedarville added two in their half to force extra frames tied, 5-5. An unearned run in in the eighth gave ODC the win. Lattanzio was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI, and run scored for the Jackets. Beth Weaver was 3-for-4, Bonnie Schaefer had a two-run double, and Becky Summers scored twice. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
March 21, Southern Wesleyan (at Mobile AL Invitational)
Southern Wesleyan broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the fourth inning and defeated Cedarville, 5-3, in the Mobile Invitational. Beth Weaver singled home two runs for the Yellow Jackets and Bonnie Schaefer singled in the other. [BOXSCORE]
March 21, Houston Baptist (at Mobile AL Invitational)
Houston Baptist, ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, used a seven-run third inning en route to an 11-0 rout over Cedarville in the Mobile Invitational. Maria Lattanzio and Andrea Butz each singled for the Lady Jackets only hits of the game. [BOXSCORE]
March 20, at Mobile (Mobile AL Invitational)
Unbeaten Mobile drilled Cedarville, 9-0, in the Rams own invitational. UM, 24-0 and ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, checked the Jackets on three hits while banging out 11 of their own. Elissa Morrison, Maria Lattanzio, and Andrea Butz had singles for Cedarville. [BOXSCORE]
March 20, Southeastern Oklahoma (at Mobile AL Invitational)
The Lady Jackets opened the season in the Mobile Invitational with a 5-1 setback to Southeastern Oklahoma, who was preseason ranked No. 11 in the NAIA. The two teams were scoreless through five innings, but the Lady Savages scored once in the top of the sixth inning and four more times in the seventh. Bonnie Schaefer doubled and scored the Jackets only run in their final at bat. [BOXSCORE]
