Senior captain Summer Bennington drives to the basket against nationally-ranked Central State in the championship game of the Cedarville College Invitational. The 5-foot-11 forward, who is from Lynchburg, Virginia, ranks second on the team in both scoring and rebounding.
Freshman center Julie Nourse goes up for two points against Central State in the Cedarville Invitational final. The six-foot native of Springfield, Ohio was voted to the all-tournament team. Nourse, who is tops on the club in scoring and rebounding, has also been among the Mid-Ohio Conference leaders in both field goal and free throw percentage.
Heather French, a junior guard from Binghamton, New York, pushes the ball up the court against Grace College in the opening round of the Cedarville Invitational. She has played in every game during her three-year Lady Jacket career and she leads the team in assists. French was voted to the Davis & Elkins Classic all-tournament team following the first two games of the season.
Sophomore guard Charity Cole, whose hometown is Sherman, New York, attempts this lefthanded layup against Central State. She played in all 30 games with 16 starts as a freshman and has continued to get considerable court time in her second season with the Lady Jackets.
Amanda Porter has been another one of the exciting young players for the Lady Jackets. The rookie guard from Farmington Hills, Michigan has played in every game with several starting assignments in 1997-98.
Gillian Gombis, a junior from Palos Heights, Illinois, attempts to drive around a Grace College defender in the opening round of the Cedarville College Invitational. The three-year letterwinner is regarded as one of the Lady Jackets top defensive players.
