Dr. Evan Hellwig is in his 19th year at Cedarville University and is in his third year as the first chair of the Department of Athletic Training. His duties include being the curriculum director for the Athletic Training major, plus he is the liaison between the athletic department and all allied health professions that the University works with.

Dr. Hellwig is an Associate Professor of Athletic Training. He is a certified athletic trainer by the BOC and is a licensed physical therapist. Hellwig is a 1984 graduate of Minnesota State University at Mankato, achieved his Physical Therapy Certificate from the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1986, and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1992.

Evan and his wife, Kelly, reside in Springfield with their four children: Chelsie, 16; Jordan, 15; Deric, 14, and Lily, 10.
